Diabolical is my vote too. Actually I had a conversation with my mom the other day about these three choises, and I say "cruel" but "diabolical is a more accurate term for it.
Yep, I knew that. No problem.
I can't prove it one way or another, but my understanding is that she could have communion through her feeding tube (possibly), but the orders from the court are that NOTHING goes into her mouth, feeding tube or no. To catholics, receiving communion by mouth is the only acceptable means. Usually they aren't allowed tiny pieces even, but I suppose exceptions can be made by bishops or priests in special situations.
In all this, I allow some fudge factoring, but the preponderance of the evidence to me who has followed the case for some time now is that the opposition and their supporters are heavily biassed and not fully truthful about Terri in a myriad of ways compared to what is coming from her supporters.
Take for example, Michael's assertion that her father "would cut her arms and legs off" to save her life making him sound like an ogre.
Any parent who has a son or daughter in the Iraq war would most likely do the same in order to save their child's life. I believe in my heart the father's intent, if he made such a statement, was that he loves his daughter enough that he would cut off her arms and legs (have it done medically, of course) in order to save her life. Any doctor worth his salt would do the same. It is common to amputate diabetic suffer's legs, partly or all, in order to save their lives.
The father's words were twisted and manipulated to make him sound harsh and cruel which is grossly dishonest and deceptive imo.
I read post #247. If it is from a valid document, score one for you. If it is true, it appears to be very recent. How many years has Terri been denied communion before now though? So maybe in the bigger picture, over a span of many years, it isn't such an untruth.
Yes, Bob Schindler did say something grotesque about cutting off Terri's limbs. He later conceded to the Court that he really wouldn't do it and that he shouldn't have said it. There are many fallacies on both sides. From what I've read on Free Republic there are far more fallacies being spread by the supporters of the Schindlers.
FYI. Greer ruled on the motion regarding Communion on March 7th. And, yes, I do know that she has been denied Communion in the past. See my previous comment. Thanks.
Once, before they remove the feeding tube. Come on you're pulling at straws. No pun here.
Read my prior posts on it on this thread.
I would not hesitate to have my childrens' legs and arms cut off to save their lives. It is grotesque, but the alternative is more grotesque. I would certainly allow that before I would allow them to be starved to death because they were deemed unfit to live due to their being such a burden and imperfect in a country where physical perfection is the gateway to riches and other perks lesser mortals have to work harder to acquire.
Christopher Reeve didn't literally have his arms and legs cut off, but they were as useless to him as if they had been. People moved heaven and earth to keep him alive because his wife evidently loved him, or wanted to do the right thing in the public spotlight, or whatever and it was useful for a variety of reasons to keep him alive which was the humane thing to do. Early on, it was my impression that he wanted them to let him die. At least he was able to communicate his wishes. He was not allowed to have his way and later seemed to be glad he chose to go on in that terrible state. For one thing, it became useful politically, but I do believe he regained his will to live and was glad at least on some days to be able to enjoy the sunshine (and the media spotlight). Terri has been treated exactly the opposite, like scum who doesn't deserve to breathe her quota of oxygen allotted to us earthlings. But then Terri only had a couple home movies made of her and Christopher Reed was a big star, despite some box office flops. And he was more cognizant of his surroundings and maintained most of his intellect. Hence, he was a useful eater, while Terri is considered a uselesse eater and deserves to die for that reason alone.
Physical perfection counts for too much in our society.
I don't know what he said what he did or what were the questions asked that prompted that response. I do know that the statements were made in testimony by Robert Schindler in court in 2000.
Well, maybe Chris Bury ought to put Robert Schindler on the hot seat and offer him a chance to explain what he meant.
One can only hope that God has a special place in hell for the both of them where they will suffer a million times worse than other hell bound souls.
Just for the record, do you have a date of that court transcript?
I don't recall that. Seems like he testified he was awoken by a 'thump'
I am excited to hear the outrage in your posts. It is amazing what we have sunk to as a society, isn't it? It hurts to know that this is even in dispute at all, and that Terri must suffer on account of the evil desires of man.

Your opinion is right on!
Michael made it sound like Mr. Schindler is holding a hacksaw, and can't wait to get at his daughter to cut off her arms.
Michael's appearance on Nightline was truly disgusting.
Crocodile tears, selfish sanctimony, and feigned outrage all rolled up into one.
His physical appearance was frightening. His eyes seemed to be almost closed, just little slits opening up a bit wider at times.
He looked and sounded drugged.
He stumbled badly and seemed caught off guard when asked the crucial question, "when did Terri express her wishes to you?" It took about ten seconds for a totally incoherent answer to emerge from his mouth, about "some television program" or some such nonsense.
Felos was his usual diabolically dispassionate self.
"I suppose I should read this, in case there's something significant. But I just can't do it."
What you miss in the reading is his facial and vocal contortions. He reacts emotionally inappropriate to the questions. It's like Scott Pederson not out searching for his wife when others were.
He cries and gets upset not over Terri's death, but about America. He freely admits the murder of his own parents by himself when they were elderly and sick. He acts childish and like an impish demon. After 15 years of thought, he should understand the issues, and yet answered wrong on every question. I was screaming at the TV. It really was awful to see.
