Maskhadov to be bried in anonymous grave:
[World News]: Moscow, Mar 9 : Chechen separatist leader Aslan Maskhadov, the suspected mastermind of the Beslan school hostage crisis who was killed in a security operation by Russian commandoes, will be buried in an anonymous grave.
"Maskhadov's body will not be handed over to his relatives, nor will they be notified about the place and date of his burial," Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Nikolai Shepel was quoted as saying by Interfax.
"The (anti-terrorism) law does not provide for handing over the bodies of terrorists to their relatives," Shepel said.
It would take at least two weeks before Maskhadov is buried, as investigators would have to conduct all necessary identification procedures.
Meanwhile, the prosecutors have "visually" identified Maskhadov's body, brought to main Russian military base at Khankala near Chechnya's provincial capital Grozny, NTV reported.
Some of Maskhadov's relatives were called to identify the body, it said.
Also, the Security officials have retracted the earlier statement saying that separatist supremo was killed accidentally by his bodyguard.
"Maskhadov died of concussion and internal bleeding following the blast of explosives used by the commandos to rip open the hatch of deep bunker in which he was hiding," a spokesman of the FSB security team told NTV.
In its comment, the TV pointed to Maskhadov's bleeding ears in the footage showing his sprawled body, which is caused by shell-shock concussion. PTI

My position on Chechnya is that they deserve each other. Fascist dictator and Islamonazis fight to the death? Have a party, boys. I just don't buy the "line" from either party without a heavy dose of skepticism.
