March 15, 2005 — Fifteen years ago, Terri Schiavo's heart stopped due to a chemical imbalance, and she suffered severe brain damage as a result. Tonight in an exclusive interview: her husband, Michael Schiavo on his fight to have her feeding tube removed.
CLEARWATER, Fla. Feb 26, 2005 — It's been 15 years since Terri Schiavo's heart stopped beating for several minutes, causing severe brain damage that put her into what doctors call a persistent vegetative state. For almost seven of those years, her husband Michael has been fighting to stop her feedings, arguing that she didn't want to be kept alive artificially.
Terri Schiavo is now 41 and still in a hospice after myriad twists and turns in a dramatic legal and ideological battle that has pitted her parents against their son-in-law. Whether there's an end in sight is anybody's guess.
"It seems like the same news over and over," acknowledged Pat Anderson, a former lawyer for Terri Schiavo's parents. "It must be quite incomprehensible (to the public) that she is still alive."
There have been countless lawsuits, court hearings, appeals, news conferences and tears shed by her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, who promise to keep fighting. The case file at the Pinellas County Courthouse now fills 45 volumes.
"I don't regret a second of what we've been through," said Terri's brother, Bobby Schindler, 40. "I'll make up for it when we save my sister."
Twice, Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed by court order, and both times it was restored. The last time, in 2003, Gov. Jeb Bush pushed through a state law later ruled unconstitutional that authorized him to resume the feedings six days after they were stopped.
On Friday, state Circuit Judge George Greer set a new date for removal of the feeding tube for March 18, prompting the Schindlers' attorney to promise yet another flurry of legal filings.
Greer's ruling came on the 15th anniversary of Terri Schiavo's collapse on Feb. 25, 1990, when a chemical imbalance believed to have been brought on by an eating disorder stopped her heart, cutting off oxygen to her brain for five minutes.
Michael Schiavo said his wife never wanted to be kept alive artificially, but she left no written directive. He says he's fulfilling a promise he made to her, and he has spent most of a $700,000 medical malpractice award given to his wife for her care to pay his attorney.

As her guardian - Michael ordered the feeding tube because it was costing too much money to have staff take the time to feed her.

He's already GIVEN the answers!! Read His Word to you and find out yourself, don't take my word.
There is sin in the world, and there are natural disasters. He can judge anyone at any time for their sin, by any means, but HE is not evil in doing so. He is just. We deserve nothing. We rebel against Him, when He says to love Him with our whole heart soul, mind and strength.
We should be terrified of Him, in a sense. He can wipe us away just like that, too. We are told to fear Him. But then we are told also of His love and what He has done for us and offers u.
Part of that loving God with our minds is acknowledging that YES, Jesus is the Christ, is God incarnate, and He says there is no other way for man to be reconciled to God except through belief in His payment of our sins by giving His life in our place. He was holy, sinless, did not deserve the wrath of God, and yet in love for us, He offered Himself, instead of our having to take it. God accepted that atonement.
Our punishment is paid in full! This is GREAT! God offers love and forgiveness and life in Christ.
Evil is evil, it is not God. God offers undeserved life and healing and goodness and mercy and forgiveness, through His ONLY method: trusting in Jesus as the One Who buys us back, redeems us, Who delivers us FROM the evil. God offers hope in Christ, a future, good and NOT evil.
He loves every person, and we have this opportunity, in an evil world, to hear His voice telling us these things from His written Word in the Bible. All of Scripture points to JESUS and His overcoming evil for us, and offering us reconciltion with a GOOD God.
Evil is horrible, but the Lord is wonderful! Yes there is injustice in the world, but God is just, and in grace offers full pardon for all sins when we trust in His Son.
Disasters are awful. But God offers rescue and eternal life, being with Him forever when we accept His grace and mercy.
"Why does He allow?" He says He allows divorce because of the hardness of our hearts. That does not mean He CONDONES or approves of it. It means we choose sin, so He says your hearts are hard. Sin. He does not WANT evil for us, but shows us the OPPOSITE by giving His only Son to ransom us from evil.
Our twelve-year-old grandson has had a feeding tube for twelve years.
Anybody trying to remove same will be making a bad career move.
Whether or not you can channel what Terri would or would not wish, the fact remains she made no wish known--

Michael put her through the trauma that produced the oxygen deprivation (and, uh, no it wasn't "bulemia"--that's bull-emia-crap).

Greer was judge-shopped because he's a bought-and-paid-for tool of the death-for-anybody-anytime agenda.
So we should let the wife-killer finish the job, destroy the evidence, take the money from the wife and give it to the lawyer to give the judge a cut, and, if there's a balance, buy a new Mercedes for the ho.
I don't think so.
I've seen this phrase used in two different ways. One I'm sure you would agree with completely, essentially that the Constitution *matters* to everyday people; that it's not just an old document handing on the wall gathering dust as it is in some countries. The other, of course, is the liberal view that Judges should just make it up as they go.
If Terri had been getting therapy, etc., as she should have, it could very well be she *could* make a valid decision. However, there seems to be a strong effort to prevent that situation from ever arising.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandson, Phil! There is not one reason in the world why Michael couldn't hand over the care of Terri to her parents.
