Years ago I was flying to the Bahamas and there was an article in the inflight magazine. It appears that someone invented a keypad which condensed all the keys and strokes into a one handed 5 button device. It had been developed and tested where a person could learn the keying regimen in about 4 hours! It wasn't Standard or Dvorak so it disappeared!
