Some of the kids I went to Grad school with were heavily tattoed. The guys had to wear long sleeves and the girls with the ankle tats had to wear dark stockings to cover them.
Most of them worked at banks or brokerage firms.

Hell I have tats. I am also an engineer. For me I get one tat a year on the anniversary of my divorce. I wear wear long sleeves by choice. Sometimes its uncomfortable in the summer but what the heck. But the outrageous jewelry and body piercing.... >shudder<
If it hinders your performance on the job maybe you shouldn't wear it....

Amateurs! One of the guys I bunked with (don't think anything funny) had a tat of the USS Constitution in full sail on his chest. That had to hurt.
