NEW YORK, March 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Coalition for a Secure Driver's License, the nation's leading advocacy group for a crucial 9/11 Commission recommendation to keep licenses out of the hands of terrorists who could be in this country unlawfully, today announced that it has retained the media firm of Stevens Reed Curcio and Potholm, creators of the now-legendary Swift Boat Veterans for Truth advertising campaign during the 2004 Presidential contest.
The firm's initial advertisement for the Coalition, a 60- second television spot, will begin airing in the Washington, D.C. media market on March 15. It will be available for viewing on the Coalition's website, http:/www.securelicense.org , that day.

"The 9/11 terrorists used driver's licenses to plan and execute their strikes. Eighteen of the 19 terrorists carried multiple licenses, which they obtained in states with lax licensing laws."
All this time I've been thinking that people from North Carolina must love New Jersey. /sarcasm

Those terrorists never should have been allowed entry into the US in the first place rather than a moronic, self-enslaving, knee-jerk response of trying to jam a National ID card down American's throats. What idiots.

Shortly after 9/11 thee was a recommendation by homeland security that all states that issue drivers licenses simply set a licenses to expire the same time that an alien entry visa expires. So that if you student visa expires in 11 months so does your drivers license. You would no longer have a valid piece of ID to use to get more ID after your visa expires. Did Any of the states act on that? not to the best of my knowledge. to simple, to effective, to sensible to implement.

I went to this webpage.
The overall feeling I get is this:
"You're stupid if you disagree with us."
"Big Brother ain't out to get you, but if you don't play ball with us, Big Brother will get you."
Go ahead nitwits, federalize drivers licenses. Then federalize hunting licenses, then federalize everything else.
Then your State capital building will be nothing more than a branch office of the fedgov.
"But don't you want to be "safe"?
GOD DIDN'T GUARANTEE ME SAFETY!! So take your "safety" and its concomitant curtailment of my LIBERTY and go away!
