I assume the IRA apologists will now shut their mouths.

The IRA is terrorist scum and should be wiped out.
I'm half Irish and even I can see that.

Don't be too sure. They're a feisty lot and the facts won't quickly disabuse them.

They're that.
And they're, too, an endemically-alcoholic, death-and-destruction-worshipping, bank-robbing, drug-and-gun-running, lying, looting, thieving, cravenly-cowardly-anonymously-mass-murdering Marxist mob of psychopathological gangster bastards.
Gutless bastards is what they've always been, what they are now and -- until [After once-great-britain, for a change, gets itself a gummint headed up by a man with both backbone and balls] they're all rounded up and eliminated from the Earth -- what they'll always be.

I was talking about the Americans of Irish heritage who just don't get it. I'm pretty sure you're talking about the IRA.

The people of Northern Ireland, quite reasonably enough, enjoy being able to go to the pub without having it blown up mid-pint. What a great line. Steyn's ability to come up with these little nuggets never ceases to amaze me.

The IRA is terrorist scum and should be wiped out. Yup. OTOH, if we use the same logic employed by some FReepers, we would have to conclude that the proper approach would be to wipe out all of the Irish Catholics.... Oh, wait: that's part of how this mess started in the first place, isn't it?

I viewed the pitiful Washington, DC St.Paddy's Day Parade this past weekend and was delighted to note that the Noraid representation was about 6 people.
Lucky for me I had my The Famous Grouse rugger shirt on during the event as I would have been embarrassed to be wearing the green on a day when the Falun Gong had one of the largest groups in that parade.

There was a piece in The New York Press a few years ago, which detailed the financial plight of NORAID after the September 11th massacres, which had-apparently-been responsible for drying up a large amount of their funding sources from the United States.
Reading about these losers-a bunch of grizzled, senescent old bums who were sipping beer at a pub on the outskirts of Woodlawn-would have been laughable, were it not so pathetic.
