BRUSSELS, March 14 (RIA Novosti, Alexander Shishlo) - The second command-staff exercise on the theatre of operations (TVD) anti-ballistic missile defence (ABM), Collaborative Arrow 2005, will be held at the De Peel air base in the Netherlands under the aegis of the Russia-NATO Council from March 14 to 23.
More than 50 representatives from Russia, as well as ten NATO countries, will participate in the exercise, the North-Atlantic alliance's press service reported.
The first theatre ABM exercise under the aegis of the Russia-NATO Council was held in Colorado Springs (the USA) in March 2004, and Russia will play host to the third exercise in the first half of 2006.
Over 3 million euros have been earmarked for studying the operational compatibility of the military-technical possibilities of the sides from the theatre ABM standpoint.
In NATO Collaborative Arrow 2005 is considered to be a new important stage in deepening practical cooperation between the alliance and Russia.
