I'd be interested in knowing that too. Ping me if you find out.

MacDougald, 46, who has been with Atlanta's Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice PLLC since 2002, was the blogger "Buckhead" who first started a cascade of criticism about a report Rather aired Sept. 8 on CBS's "60 Minutes II" about President George W. Bush's Air National Guard service. Why do they insist on calling FR a "blog" site? We're a Conservative News discussion website. Don't they know the difference? Or is FR technically a weblog?
I'm glad to see FR getting so much mention in the press though, anyway.

I would like to know if Buckhead revealed his own identity and, if not, who revealed it. If I recall correctly, it was the LA Times which dug through all Buckhead's old posts, gathered personal clues from them and 'outed' him.

"In his blog on FreeRepublic.com..." ???...they still don't know the difference.
Also from MSNBC: "They got that intra-net thing on computers now too!"

Peter Jennings of ABC News also referred to FR as a "right wing blog" recently.
To: DeFault User; Space Wrangler; Kay
You recall correctly. It was the LA Times.

Interesting, isn't it, how the L.A. Times has all the time in the world to "Out" Freeper 'buckhead'...
...but no time at all to label the RATHERGATE Memos he exposed here on Freerepublic.com as the illegal CBS fraud upon the American People and their Commander-in-Cheif in Time of War
...that they really were..?
Still..?

It would be more correct to say that I was the first person not hired by CBS who said they were fakes. Mapes knew, because she was told they were no good by the experts she hired before she went to air, but she went to air anyway. She said she could get an expert to say anything she needed them to say.

MSNBC can not tell the diffence between a blog and a forum or WORSE they think the public is too stupid to get it. PERHAPS MSNBC is just to lazy to make the distiction.
Probably can't distinguish between a typewriter font and a Microsoft font, either.

What a great write-up about
"The Man Behind Rathergate" (Buckhead). MSNBC really did an in-depth report, and it explains why Buckhead knew so much about typefaces and fonts. A must-read, it's truly a fabulous story!
To: Buckhead; Jim Robinson
The article explains why you were able to pick up on the fonts. Thanks to FR you were able to get the word out. Good Job...
