PROTEST MARCH, 19th March, "GLOBAL DAY"-

Just a shout out--a "FYI"--piece of news. If you like to HELP--the more help the better--I find many people on the same side. If you have nothing "nice" to say--well; you know the golden rule. It seems there is ALWAYS some people who...you know.

Protest Warriors at protestwarrior.com March 19th is GLOBAL DAY --where liberal elements plan a " Bring Our Troops Home " march, along with their other Fringe-Element " Freaks" and Socialists/communists marchers too.

Once again, the CANSWER from A.N.S.W.E.R. has issued a call to mobilize for a Global Day of mass action for the weekend of March 19-20 on the second anniversary of the beginning of Operation: Iraqi Freedom.

Much like last year, Leftist marches have been planned to occur in Washington DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and in other cities around the country and around the world to take place on March 19/20. And much like last year's Operation: Wolverines, the Protest Warriors will be there once again to do battle with the Leftist hordes. But that is not all.

We are now calling on all Protest Warriors, both here in the U.S. AND ABROAD, to participate in our own International Response to their Global Day of action.

We have less than two months to make preparations for this event, so let us be efficient and focus all our energies into making this Operation a worldwide success.

Let us show the International Left just how powerful a force the Army of the Republic can be.

I shall be organizing for the New York City part of the Operation. In addition, I shall be sending e-mails to chapter leaders both here and abroad so that they too can counter-act the International Leftist's marches around the world.

I hope to be there if I am out of this hospital. ( Guilt trip approaching!)--If "I" will be trying to drag my bloody/bleeding/dying body out of here to show up this Saturday--I do NOT see any reason why any ABLED-BODIED Man or Woman can not at least show up for an hour or two. Thank you,

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Organize a counter-protest of the anti-war protestors emphasizing support for our country, our troops, and our President. Alternately, organize a "support the troops" rally to take place on the same day and in the same city as the anti-war rally nearest you. Or, attend a counter-protest or support troops rally already being held.*
The troops are fighting over there. Surely, you can give up a day or two of your free time to organize, support, and attend a rally to counter the hate-America first crowd.
HOW: Some suggestions:

Call the local police and ask about requirements for permits, restrictions on protest sign size and materials, and other laws involved in protests. In many locations, no permit is needed if you are going to be under a given number such as 25 people.
Plan an event. If possible, try to get a location across the street from the leftists or otherwise close, but not too close, to them. Try to have some barrier such as a street, hedge, or fence between them and your group IF you think it's necessary to control interaction between the groups and the police are unlikely to be deployed in numbers between the groups.
Publicize the event by starting a thread about your local Rally/Counter-protest. Contact other FReepers in your area by pinging them to the thread and using the state message boards. (Click here, then on an appropriate state message board. From there, you can locate some adjacent FReepers by clicking on the "[New Prototype -- Click for Members List].") Contact local veterans' organizations, GOP groups (especially College Republicans), Young Americans for Freedom, and all other groups (e.g., Second Amendment groups) that are likely to support our side.
Send out press releases to local media and contact local talk show hosts, especially conservative ones, who may be willing to promote, attend or speak at the event.
Make sure that all of your people know that the point is not to interfere with anyone else's rights, but to emphasize support for the troops and their mission. Give out or at least publicize rules for protesting such as DC Chapter's rules for protesting, especially if you have a few who might be overly zealous:

No violence, no threats, no profanity, no racism, no law-breaking.
Law enforcement officers must be treated with respect.
Stay out of the street at all times, except when using a crosswalk with the traffic light.
Do not block the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic. Keep your signs from hanging over into the street.
Do not block the signs of, nor get within 10 feet of, our opponents. Do not interfere with any media coverage of them. Our First Amendment rights are their rights, too.
Any arguments should be at 10 feet away to avoid conflict arising from passions on both sides. If you choose to get close to them physically, do so in friendship as fellow Americans only.
Do not give the middle finger, call people jerks, tell them to go home or get a job.
Take the high road. Be civil, but resolute, when you are cursed at or given the middle finger; point out the rudeness of the leftists by chanting, "Mean spirited arrogant condescending liberal."

Bring lots of American flags.
Have fun.

WHY: What good does a rally or counter-protest do?

Gets out a message to our troops that we support them.
Allows you to peacefully express your point of view. Much better than kicking in your TV when the leftists come on.
Upsets the leftists and demoralizes some of them. Prevents them from getting a free ride in the media.

Or, if you can't take advantage of this incredible opportunity to counter the leftists in person and have fun in the process (you haven't lived until you've FReeped the leftists in person), you may want to consider another tact.

Please consider writing letters to the editors of your local papers (also copying the reporter likely to cover the protest) both now and after the protest, opposing the protests. For example, you might point out that:

The lead group behind the anti-war protests, International ANSWER are self-admitted traitors. Their website includes the statement that "the anti-war movement here and around the world must give its unconditional support to the Iraqi anti-colonial resistance" (last page of 4 page ANSWER brochure at ANSWER website here: http://www.answerla.org/pdf/iraq/iraqresist.pdf). ANSWER's leaders are not anti-war. They just support the side fighting America. They support the people blowing up our troops in Iraq, intentionally killing innocent Iraqi civilians, and beheading American civilians.

Once again, busloads of leftist activists will descend upon Fayetteville, NC in an attempt to demoralize the will of our American troops by targetting their loved ones with antiwar drivel.
The choice of Fayetteville, NC, as a focal point of their propaganda campaign, is due to the fact that it is the home of Ft. Bragg (and the 82nd Airborne) as well as the Pope Airforce Base. The leftists will march with socialist banners and bring out an array of speakers decrying the war and advocating every variety of left-wing topic from Marxism and socialism to special "rights" for homosexuals to secularism to pro-Hezbollah Palestinianism. (Seriously - last year they all were really there!)
The unifying factor of all of these groups is anti-Americanism utilizing continued propaganda themes of "Bush lied" and "No blood for oil". The mob will also import a number of speakers who have allegedly lost loved ones in Iraq, and will create some sort of symbolic display reflecting the number of dead. (They have used pairs of boots and black umbrellas in the past.) They will (undoubtedly through an unintentional oversight) neglect to display any symbolism reflecting the number of Americans killed in the WTC, or Iraqis killed by Saddam or Women beaten by the Taliban, or the number of Afghanis and Iraquis and Palestinians and Ukrainians and (soon) Egyptians who now have the ability to vote.
Last year, FReepers countered the leftwing protests with the added participation of Rolling Thunder, Protest Warriors, Vets and other patriotic Americans. This year, we'll do it again! We had lots of press coverage, and totally deflated the left's bubble. Families of our troops loved the fact that we were there!
Please join FReepers from Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina and DC in Fayetteville this year as once again we provide aid and comfort to American troops!

PRO-AMERICAN/PRO-TROOPS RALLY AND COUNTER PROTEST

The Protest Warriors in coalition with many other Pro-American groups, including the Free Muslims, are planning a counter protest to the International Action Center’s March 19th anti-war protest here in New York City. These left wing groups are peddling the same stale message about America trying to take over the world. The problem is: these groups have all been taken over by Communists, Socialists and Anarchists. The message is no longer a pure anti-war message. We are asking all people that love this country and support our current foreign policy to join us on March 19th to counter these ignorant masses on their day of protest. It is time for us all to stand up and protest them. Protest Warrior leadership is asking that you bring an American Flag umbrella, for a secret plan, or anything that displays something Pro-American, Pro-Bush, Pro-Real Islam or Pro-Iraq. Exact details as to the action are being withheld for security purposes. This will be the March Surprise for the left and their message of hate.
