Nichols is black. So is the woman who testified that he trapped her in hew home and assaulted her over the course of three days. Race had nothing to do with his trial for rape, kidnapping and assault. (Nothing, that is, unless some jurors were itching to let any black guy off for whatever he was charged with.)
