What a great essay. So true and clear.

It's also too bad that I won't see it on the New York Times Op Ed page today. I wonder what kind of crap that paper will print instead.

The truly amazing thing is that the people of the United States of America have willingly given up so much of their freedom. A nation that began in bloody revolution against tyranny now allows law enforcement to seize cash from travelers without any charges being made, the mere possession of cash has been criminalized. We allow the government to specify exactly how much cash we can deposit at one time without filing a special report. I could go on all day.
