There is a story in a newspaper published in the largest city in Michigan this morning about a US Marine reserve unit being told they are no longer able to use a parking lot for weekend drills. The property belongs to an automotive trade union.
Seems as though some of the Marines have foreign made cars and some, even worse, have Bush/Cheney stickers on their bumpers.
I apologize for the vanity but wanted to bring attention to this story. You can find the story via the Drudge Refernce Desk under Newspapers. It's in one of the two major newspapers of SE Michigan.
Can you at least post the names and addresses of the union's executive committee? I have a few stamps I don't need and a bunch of anytime minutes on my long distance plan.

Why doesn't anyone have a link on this story????
A quote from union officials:
"While reservists certainly have the right to drive non-union made vehicles and display bumper stickers touting the most anti-worker, anti-union president since the 1920s, that doesnt mean they have the right to park in a lot owned by members of the UAW."
Thanks.. I did a search with the actual title and that thread didn't use it either.
When you try to post from the subject newpaper, you get a notice that the source is blocked.
I believe that is a no-no. If the source is blocked for posting the thread, the mods don't want you to post excerpts down thread.
I got that off Michelle Malkins site.

Well, in that case, I don't know.
Our people are fighting for Americans' right to buy Toyotas and hold non-union jobs.
At least the story is getting out. My guess is the union may win the battle but will lose the publicity war.
If history is any indicator, they are probably fighting for our future right to drive Iraqi made cars and have the last of our manufacturing jobs sent over there.
If the car is foreign made, it shouldn't be on the lot.
The unions politics are well known.
Yeah but the union "supports the troops" yada yada yada.
It's their right. It's also the right of union members to vote conservative.
Actually I belong to the UAW, and my local paid for a family to go to Arlington for their son's burial in 2003.
Not to mention all the Christmas gifts they collected.
Roughly half do.
"look at the union pigs"...Your daddy can die for us... but, he can't park in our lot...
Our service men and women are fighting for these guys, and for yours. Thank them every chance you get!
Ahem.....
Cram your parking lot....
