PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) - Buoyed by encouragement from actor Mel Gibson, the family of
Terri Schiavo joined a rally today pleading for her life, just days before the court-ordered removal of her
feeding tube.

About 200 people prayed and sang outside the hospice where the 41-year-old brain-damaged woman lives.
Schiavo can breathe on her own, but depends on a tube in her abdomen for food and water. She has been at the
center of a long and bitter court battle: Her husband says she wouldn't want to be kept alive artificially,
but her parents doubt she had such end-of-life wishes.
Bob Schindler says he spoke to "The Passion of the Christ" director yesterday. He says Gibson told him "to
hammer God with prayers and hammer him hard."
The removal of Schiavo's feeding tube is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
Groups supporting the Schindlers say they will begin a 24-hour vigil outside the hospice on Wednesday.

And HERE we go - strap on the armor of God, people, we're in for a battle! But the battle belongs to the Lord...
If Mel were to show up for this 24 hour vigil, it might just change the dynamics enough to save this lady.
I agree, the media would come like bees on honey
If this was your last week before slow murder, wouldn't you want Freepers being VERY involved?! Let's all be VERY vociferous, pray, do all we can. Now is the time. Contact all the media who keep claiming Terri is in a "vegetative state." She is NOT! Insist on correct coverage. Check each channel and each hour of coverage and each anchorperson. Contact every Representative and Senator and Governor. Blessings to all of you who care.
I've emailed the media in my area but they never say anything about Terri. I don't even get any response back. But I'll keep trying. And I'll keep praying for a miracle.
If he's going to starve the people who come before him, he can go on a serious diet himself.
I have been observing a change in the kind of reporting done on Terri. Maybe it's the fact that I'm listening mostly to XM radio, but there, at least, Terri is called a "brain-damaged" woman. Which is exactly correct. I also saw (but did not hear) one of the Terri videos on CNN the other day, where she was looking up at her mother, smiling and blinking a lot.
I keep praying for a miracle. I also pray for Greer's heart to soften, but I think he's harder than Dr. Seuss' Grinch. At this point, even if he realizes that he is completely wrong in ordering Terri to be murdered, it is unlikely his pride will allow him to admit it.
I hope enough businesses in his local area know his face well, so they can completely ostracize him, deny him seating at restaurants, etc.
Just point to the sign:
We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service to Anyone.
.
Remember, no one has any obligation to be polite to Judge Greer.
I've never listened to XM radio. Have they always called Terri "brain damaged," or did they recently change, like other media sources have?
I think the change has come about because they realize nobody wants to read their lies. More people read stories about Terri from The Empire Journal than from St. Pete Times. Is it because TEJ is more famous? Of course not. Most of us never heard of TEJ until we started researching Terri Schiavo. We prefer their coverage because we have the documents that prove TEJ is telling the truth, and St. Pete Times lies through their teeth. The other media sources have observed this, and have altered their coverage accordingly. The more they tell the truth, the more people read their articles.
I've worked in a lot of restaurants. I can assure you, somebody, somewhere, is doing disgusting things to his food. It's a shame he'll probably never know. If I was his waitress, I'd have to serve him a perfectly good glass of tea and ask him if it tasted any different from the tea I've been bringing him for the last five years. Of course he would notice the difference, and I would tell him (in all honesty) "that's because I didn't pee in it this time."
Honestly, I really don't know. I've only had XM for a few months. However, when Terri came back into the news, I couldn't help but notice that they were not calling her "comatose" or "vegetative" or one of the other belittling terms I've heard in the past.
