It was one of the most startling sites I have seen in quite some time. I was walking the dog just after dark and happened to be staring up at Orion when a blue streak lit the sky in a slow glide to the west, seemingly right into the Pacific with a tremendous flash.

Stunning.... enough so to share.

One thing I'm puzzled about is others described the trajectory as north to south, and the color as orange.

Were there multiple meteors at about the same time? If it was a single meteor, the color may have changed as the outer layers burned off and/or the temp cooled.

That's what happens when you cheat on elections.

Mountains blow up, you get pounded from the skies, what's next, frogs and locusts?

Could it be that the robot has disturbed the Mars neighborhood and they are coming to get us?

Thanks for sharing! I envy you -- you saw a good one. I have seen many meteors over the years, and only a handful of really spectacular meteors. One of the best "meteors" I saw was very colorful and the trail lasted a long time -- the next day I read a story saying it was probably an old booster rocket.

Saw a flaming 'meteor' myself a few years back. It was pretty impressive.

It may have been space junk but still was quite a show.

We saw a similar situation in the sky over Chicago a few years back. Happened during rush hour traffic, which pretty much came to a standstill for the duration. The consensus was that it was either space junk or a meteor burning up.

One report said the object was green. Any chance the object had a green tint while the trail was white? A bolide (explosion) would be brilliant white.
