Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...
What do you think all the moaning and groaning is always about? It's because we've become a big tent and they don't like it ONE bit.
There's a HUGE difference between a Kerry who actually celebrates abortion and even partial birth abortion, and someone like Condi who has a three exception rule.
Your analogy is naive in the extreme.
"Ridiculous... do you even know what mildly pro choice means as defined by Condi Rice? Are all of you in this thread really closed minded to a black woman President?"
Psst...you just played the race card.
Pro-choice *IS* pro-abortion.
Hillary will allow planned parenthood to open an abortion clinic in the West Wing if she wins in 2008.
And with all this talk of Bush getting to make SCOTUS appointments - its not going to happen. He will replace Rehnquist, but I don't think any of the others are going to leave the court, they will hang on for 4 years. The president elected in 2008 is the one who will likely reshape the court.
Does anyone believe what a president believes about abortion will make a difference? Roe v. Wade won't be overturned any time soon anyway.
Celebrates??
It's true she's not held elective office, but I'm of the opinion that time spent in the useless politicking of congress doesn't make people less effective the more they are exposed to it. She's held positions of control and influence that far outweigh the minutia of congress. She is used to making a decision and expecting things to happen because of it. Why ruin that?
LOL
It already is under certain circumstances: self-defense, state executions, and military/police actions.
I agree with you 100% and especially about the court appointments, barring an unforseen illness.
I do believe that is true in your own mind. I sincerely do.
But following that logic, 'anti-abortion' is 'anti-choice'
My Kerry file is in my recycle bin, only to be gone through when/if he runs again.
But in it is a speech he gave a few years ago and he actually used words like "the beauty of choice and abortion." blah blah blah It was DISGUSTING.
You don't know what motivated me to describe Rice's race in this thread.
I would totally support her if she ran. This Country would be lucky to have a talented candidate of her caliber running to be its President.
Lots and lots of judging going on in this thread.
I'm of the opinion that time spent in the useless politicking of congress makes people less effective the more they are exposed to it.
That is exactly who the DNC will be running in 2008: Hillary Clinton.
Whatever contortions you need to make to rationalize the cowardly and pathetic murder of a defenseless, unborn, innocent child somewhere on earth, by all means...sad, disgusting, petty, sick, twisted people.
We had hundreds of things to beat Kerry up on.
I couldn't care LESS why you voted against him....only that you did.
And I don't care WHY you vote Republican in the next election...only that you DO!
Here's a clue: neither one will make a difference, no matter what their position is. But go ahead and sit on your hands out of spite. I'll be here for the next 8 years of Clinton to mock evangelical idiots everytime they whine about President Hillary.
"Abortion should be legal, but NEVER occur."
Right.
