Sheer crap...he's been offered money before. If he wanted her dead, why did he try every therapy the first five years? And if you know something concrete, like you say you do, then you should go to the police and tell them your evidence. If you don't, you should keep your mouth shut instead accusing a man of attempted murder.

Because he had argued in court that he "would care for her for the rest of [his] life" in order to secure the malpractice award of $1.2M. You don't just turn around immediately and try to kill her or fabricate a memory that she wouldn't want any of this... you need to play the game for a while.
