He got by on family connections in the first place. If he had to stay in the Naval Academy on his own merit he would NEVER have been there.

His capture was the unintended consequence of undeserved privilege.

I am sorry he was a POW but that does not give him special status, as he has not lived his life with honor.....before or after his capture.

I agree with you on all of it. I don't think he was and outstanding individual at all. He flew the missions and spent the time as a POW. As an U. S. Air Force veteran I won't forget any of that. I wish he wasn't in congress though he paid his dues.
