This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.
Atlanta-area cops are a different breed than those throughout the rest of the nation.
I bet you a dozen Krispy-Kremes that thisa guy never makes it to court.
"You got ten seconds head start, boy. Let's see if you can outrun lead."
Geez. I was gonna post to myself, so I wouldn't get into an argument, but couldn't make up my mind....
But I figured, with a handle like Dead Corpse, I would be pretty safe.
Rape, Forcible Rape, Attempted Murder,Sodomy, Aggravated Aggravation, (wait a minute). No, I think that's right.
This guy, IMHO, is part of the infestation that inhabits our Southern neighbors with the same initials, S.A. The rapist thugs the UN has working for them. Here on shore leave, in a sense, and go on a mad sex spree. He was caught and jailed, no bond, the instant they took the binders off in the courtroom, he sprung into action to make his escape. He shot(and/or killed) Judge,Court Reporter, Two Deputies.
That gives him two guns mininmum. He had his targets planned. He is used to shooting and killing his way out to escape. Vehicle to Vehicle, cover your trail, hide in plain sight.
Definitely not your average first time rapist. (Assuming charges would have been found correct, which is now a moot point)
I would like to know that, too. I haven't heard anyone report on it yet.
They haven't located him yet.
If they are not convinced now, it's a lost cause.
Yeah... they were just discussing that the Amber Alert signs are running a few minutes behind the latest info.
CNN....reporter saying car with a victim being checked...I didn't hear the location
LOL.....I can just see that now!
Besides, we are BOMBARDED with stories on the news and in print, about how FAT the American public is.
Given that fact, why should time-wasting, "special" arrangements have to be made when life-saving seconds are ticking away?
It damn sure shouldn't be done for "political correctness", ala former demonRAT politician Patricia Schroeder, and others of her political ilk.
At least we should be able to agree that a crew MUST have at least ONE individual (of course, TWO is MUCH better) on an ambulance that can do like the police officer that jumped in and did today, get the patient up in the ambulance so they can get to the hospital in a timely, and hopefully, life-saving manner.
Judge Barnes, Court Reporter Killed
Last Modified: 3/11/2005 10:52:48 AMA Superior Court judge, two sheriff's deputies and a court reporter were shot in downtown Atlanta Friday morning. Judge Rowland Barnes and his court reporter have died of their injuries, Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor confirmed for 11Alive News.
A search is underway for the suspect, who has been identified as Brian Nichols. Nichols was in a courtroom for proceedings on a rape charge when he grabbed a deputy's weapon and opened fire. He later carjacked several vehicles, one of which belonged to Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Don O'Bryant, who was pistol whipped.
The latest vehicle Nichols fled in is a green Honda Accord that he may be using to head toward Alabama, police said. Electronic highway messages are being posted throughout the state with information on that vehicle.
While in Judge Barnes' courtroom on the eighth floor of the Fulton County courthouse Friday morning, Nichols wrestled a gun away from a deputy and started shooting.
11Alive News Reporter Denis O'Hayer heard the shooting as he readied to enter the state Capitol one block away.
"We heard five shots, very loud, very clear, very distinct and we moved immediately toward them and saw this Fulton County sheriff's deputy lying on the ground. We saw officers beginning to work on him," said O'Hayer. "He was clearly very seriously wounded."
"(The officers) were working furiously on him, they were trying to give him chest compressions. They were so desperate to get him to medical care at a hospital that they tried to load him in the front seat of a squad car. He could not fit in there. They tried to get him on the passenger side. They took him out, put him back on the ground, tried to load him into the back seat of that squad car. They had no luck there. They got him back on the ground. An ambulance arrived."
The deputy was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. A second deputy is also being treated for injuries.
The suspect ran to a Centennial Olympic Park parking deck and stole a Mazda Tribute with the license plate 4643 ABW, according to police.
The suspect drove to Combs Street and went into a second parking garage. A witness told police that the suspect put a gun to a woman's head and stole her vehicle, a 1997 grey or green Honda Accord with the license plate 6584YN.
The Fulton County courthouse and other buildings in downtown Atlanta were on lockdown. Traffic in the blocks surrounding the courthouse was backed up as police cruisers flooded the area looking for the suspect.
A motive for the shooting was unknown. One woman said she saw the man run past her as she entered the parking garage of the courthouse.
"I was entering the parking garage and just as I got my ticket I heard several shots, turned to go up the ramp and saw the guy run past me," said Wanda Tamplan.
"Another lady and I made a decision to get in the elevator and go down and as we got down the police had their guns drawn and rushed us out."
We'll continue to follow this breaking news and have an update from the scene.
Yes, sir...that man ws the very definition of "hero".
How many times will it take before they learn? The first time should have been enough. If these deputies made mistakes, those mistakes cost them and others their lives.
Did you catch that they have called the families of the deputies to the hospital?
Yes, this is cheaper than investing in holsters that are resistant to perps or training of law enforcement officers on how to handle a potentially armed suspect.
..or maybe he was going for the bullet in his shirt pocket and...
You're welcome. This thread is huge and moving fast. Figured you needed a "catch up!" Prayers are appropriate for sure.
BTTT
And most times, SERIOUSLY funny! ;-)
No, but I'm not surprised.
