Fulton Co. Judge shot and killed in courthouse shooting (BREAKING Fri 9A)
WAGA-TV/WSB-TV Atlanta

This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

Yep - in fact mhking posted at 9:39 eastern.. and first "description" on the thread was 9:50 eastern..
And I had heard it a minute or two before the post..
All along the news has been stating a pretty clear description... I've been paying attention all day.

Heads up.
Nancy Grace tried cases in front of Judge Barnes, they were friends, played on softball team together.
His stenographer visited Nancy Grace several weeks ago.
She is doing a show from Atlanta tonight. I think it is at 7 on CNN Headlines news.
I believe her fiance was killed (maybe gunshot) during a violent crime many years ago.

You know, in the circumstances his political opinions really don't matter.
He went on the superior court bench long after I stopped practicing law. I don't know him personally and don't think I was ever in his courtroom.
But I don't care if he was more liberal than Teddy Kennedy . . . NOBODY deserves to die like this. NOBODY.

He will be arrested for driving while dead.
Sheriff is getting ready for Press Conference on MSNBC now.

He's probably holed up in an abandoned house or one of those cheap pay-by-the-week motels... Or in a Winnebago clicking on his laptop & talking on his cellphone...getting closer & closer to Miami where he will get a job as a stevedore on a slow boat to China...

You are right, Nancy Grace's fiance was killed many years ago, that's what started her into prosecuting cases.
I've known Nancy for years. This hits her very close to home.

Jurists who work to further their personal agenda instead of "the Law" are as high on my sh*t list as liberal judges! I think you meant to say "jurors" instead of "jurists". "Jurist" is another word for a judge. I've been a juror twice, and both times were pretty straightforward; everybody took their duties seriously and all defendants got a fair trial--no jury nullification going on at all. If I was on a jury with others who thought the way you're talking about, I'd hang the jury before I went along with it.

It's pretty tragic. I'm sure the court reporter never imagined getting blown away just taking judge's notes.

They had her on the phone on Court TV this AM, she was devastated. I felt so sorry for her. So many of her close friends killed by idiots with guns. I am glad you gave us the heads up, I will be watching.

They haven't included the $10,000 offered by Bo Dietl live on MSNBC about thirty minutes ago.

I thought about that driving home...he could be in anyone's house right now. They would find him, but not tonight.
If I was one of his friends who turned him in before, I think I would have at 9:01 this am.

Hello,
If this is true and he called to threaten someone during a presser, we have a different situation than I thought we did. I thought we had a "go to ground, hide and try to evade the cops" situation. Apparently, we have a man with a plan and a large agenda. Big difference. Prayers to anyone who crosses this evil man's path.
Glad to be here (stay safe everyone!!), MOgirl
