This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

She's not a bad Mayor. In fact, I sort of like her. She was left holding the bag when Bill Campbell left town. She's done a decent job with what she has to work with.Agreed. Campbell left her with a huge mess to clean up.

BTW, did they ever catch up with the Mayor's grandson?

Every report I have seen, from police to doctors, has the female deputy being shot in the head.
The speaker in the news conference just directly contradicted that. Said they now believe it was 'another method'.

It appears that after being shot, the deputy perhaps fell to the ground...Ya think?

BTW, did they ever catch up with the Mayor's grandson?I'm not sure. The story kind of "disappeared."

"The allegation was that he was in a relationship with the young lady for about eight years. He planned on spending her birthday with her. He had gone to her house a couple days prior to her birthday with an ice chest and lunch meat and bread. He had planned on staying with her and he apparently held her hostage and allegedly raped her, kidnapped her and sodomized her and, at some point, she got away," said Rockwell. Nichols lived in a gated community called the Laurel Grove condominiums just off I-285 in Sandy Springs, according to information obtained by 11Alive's Jon Shirek. One of his neighbors said he never wanted to go up against Nichols, who is 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. "Once I heard about it and (police) were all around this area, my wife was at home and I told her to please get out of there because the guy's a maniac," a neighbor said.

another question: why is this fella bein' referred to as a "suspect"?
it is KNOWN he did this.
AFAIK, there is no need even for capture and prosecution.
there is something to be said for summary death-sentence, with immediate execution, in cases like this.

but why is the Fire Chief in full firefighting gear at a presser? In case he has to hose down a reporter or two?
To: anyone
The police officers seem to be a majority of blacks. From what the pictures on the news is showing.
Is this area also a majority of black civilians?
The bad guy looks like an average Joe, nothing sticks out like goofy ears or scars on his face.
They should stake out his Mom's house.
I bet his fiancee has asked for protective custody at this point.
I would like to see the fiancee interveiwed.

Agreed. Though I won't be surprised if he did have a weapon to start. Stabbed through the cheek is my guess.
