The Shortest Distance Between Two Points-(Reagan's daughter, like his son, doesn't get it!)
MSNBC.MSN.COM ^ | MARCH 10, 2005 | PATTI DAVIS

Posted on 03/10/2005 10:27:01 PM PST by freeholland

So, in the clear light of dawn, it made me think of America under the Bush administration, deep into the deadly traffic jam of a war that we got into under false pretenses (let’s please not forget the WMDs that were never there).

The stated goal of this president is peace. Yet he began a war. And he has dug us in deeper and deeper. His stated goal is freedom—for everyone, everywhere—but where is the freedom for other people when foreign troops are patrolling their country, turning their cities into rubble, frightening citizens who don’t even speak the same language as the soldiers filling their streets? The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. There is nothing straight about what we are doing on the international stage; we’re veering farther away from the laudable goals of peace and liberty.

What a shame that neither of Reagan's biological children can understand, let alone appreciate their GIANT of a father's great thinking, his spectacular strength in the identification of evil and his courageous will to confront it.

I'm wondering just which Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, PLO, Libya.......she has been seeing recently; - and just when, exactly, did Patti Davis become a foreign policy expert or a military strategist?

Her narcissistic analysis of "where Bush is going wrong" is positively sophomoric, and her analogy of the war on terror to her personal predicament on L.A.'s traffic-snarled freeways is breathtakingly lame - even childish, a comparison that a 6th grader might make, and the tricky-trendy little title, "shortest distance between two points" is supposed to be....what? . . . Deep?

Patti is just another liberal who can not let an opportunity to mention the missing WMDs get past her.

"(let’s please not forget the WMDs that were never there) PSST! Patti !! They're in the Bekaa Valley! The Russians helped Saddam's forces cart them out of Iraq, through Syria and into the Bekaa, where they buried them!

Michael Reagan is the only one who understands his father's legacy completely. I got the impression, at Reagan's funeral, that Patti had "come around." Obviously not at all, sad to say. Poor Nancy. How she can be proud of Ron, Jr. and Patti I can't imagine.

I'm still confused why either child is given a soapbox. What are their credentials, other than nepotism?

What are their credentials

It's like poking a stick in the GOP's eyes. Supposedly.

I'm not. They are both screaming idiotic moonbats.

Patti Davis has always been a vocal Liberal for years.

It's no wonder that Reagan was an emotionally distant man. People like this, who allow themselves to be whored out to liberals for petty purposes, were the closest and dearest in his life.

It isn't that difficult to understand. Ronnie was a Christian. I don't know if his kids are. It's not that hard for a true Christian to see evil for what it is.

The shortest distance between two points is the depth of a liberal's thought.

Even liberals would view Patti's article as pure drivel.

The stated goal of this president is peace. Yet he began a war.

It's always good to go over the basics. Saddam invaded Kuwait? Saddam tried to kill Bush 41? Saddam's boys kept training their Anti-aircraft radar on our planes? Saddam shot money in the direction of terrorists? Patti, honey, does any of this sound familiar?

So tell me, WHO exactly started this war?

It is commonly known now, and has been discussed in numerous articles on the internet and in print for several months.

On Fox cable, Maj. Gen. Paul Valely and Col. David Hunt and several other military analysts were saying exactly this starting in June of 2003, or whenever the question arose of where the purported WMDs went. Their information came from their government sources, which they've retained since retiring.

"Poor Nancy" is kind of a jerk, too. Her stumping for stem cell research is moronic and appalling in view of RR's staunch pro-life stand.

"So, in the clear light of dawn, it made me think of America under the Bush administration, deep into the deadly traffic jam of a war that we got into under false pretenses (let’s please not forget the WMDs that were never there)."

I can't think of a single intelligence agency, even those of France, Germany and Russia, that did not believe that Hussein had WMDs prior to the start of the war. Patti seems to have forgotten that. Hell, those three countries probably sold the weapons and related technology to Hussein. We know they were in violation of the UN sanctions in myriad ways, and dealt with him freely. Maybe they are in the Bekaa Valley and Syria or maybe not. Maybe Hussein was just BSing the world so he could look more powerful than he was. The bottom line is that you have to act on the intel you have. Hindsight is the view you get when your head is up your ass. It explains the tunnel vision of great Democrat "thinkers" like Patti and her ilk as well.

"The stated goal of this president is peace. Yet he began a war. And he has dug us in deeper and deeper. His stated goal is freedom—for everyone, everywhere—but where is the freedom for other people when foreign troops are patrolling their country, turning their cities into rubble, frightening citizens who don’t even speak the same language as the soldiers filling their streets?"

Isn't it odd then, that polls of Iraqis show strong support for the invasion and the current occupation? Is it Americans or terrorists that are targeting innocent Iraqis at mosques or Iraqi cops picking up their pay checks? Why are "foreign troops" a problem for Patti, but foreign "insurgents" are not (how can you be an insurgent in someone else's country?)? Real insurgents would target Americans, not other Iraqis, by definition.

The majority of Iraqis are smart enough to realize that we are there for their benefit.

Too bad Patti isn't.
