Chris Ledoux Died Today in Casper Wyoming, Breaking, just heard on the radio.
When I was living in Argentina riding horses with the gauchos I used to play Chris Ledoux CDs while we cooked asados...and translate "you gotta cowboy up when you get throwed down" I really grew to like his music and became a fan...
Colt 44 RIP
My wife called me....I was cleaning up at work.
He was the real thing....a man's man.
Born in Biloxi....bet dad was at Keesler.]
I never knew that.
I've been working too much and not listening to enough music. After just listening to some samples at iTunes, I can understand the sadness of Chris Ledoux's passing. RIP
I put off seeing him in concert in dallas believing that i'd get another chance. I love chris' music!!! My three little kids just LOVE "the cowboy's hat" song. they'll be so sad! His songs actually had lyrics that made SENSE!! We are a better world for having him in it.
god speed cowboy!!
Saw him play in Fort Worth.
Awsome concert.
A buddy of mine has a lot of the records he made before he signed with the big record company.
Before the 15 or so that were put out with the big company...he made somewhere around 20 records on his own.
Some were made when he was still riding.
We used to listen to some of them in high school. My friend would get them when he went up that way with his dad to buy livestock. And we would listen to him while working the stalls.
Soon we will have no more living musicians. Just recently we have lost Sammi Smith, that guitarist from that rock band, Ray Charles, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Bobby Helms, that guy from McFadden & Whitehead, Jerry Lee Lewis, Laura Branigan, Waylon Jennings and the list goes on and on and on.
Funny, I was just listening to a Chris Ledoux song today on the "Outlaw Country" station on Sirius radio. This must have been mere hours before his death.
Handsome guy- hope he knew Jesus. May he rest in peace.
I always wondered who that was.
Saw LeDoux perform last summer when he opened for Travis Tritt in Lima, Ohio. Rest in peace.
(he won a rodeo scholarship)
(serious) I had no ideas that scholarships were given for Rodeo. What school?
Red
Eastern New Mexico State University in Portales, for one.
Thanks, Im gonna go check it out.
I googled and found the answer. Caspar College. He also studied the sport at Sheridan and Eastern New Mexico and won the Intercollegiate National Bareback Riding Championship.
