My husband is an Aircraft mechanic. For his skill, he wants at least a living wage.

I have skills too. I want a big house in the mountains....with a big truck in the driveway.

Considering that airplane mechanics need to have certifications, how the hell did they wind up working ??

Ya got me on that one. In North Carolina, the state places your automobile odometer miles into the state computer every year just to keep track of the owner/taxpayer. If the inspector fudges on the inspection, that person and establishment are fined HEAVILY. Not one corner can be cut. You would think the state could at least take the time to concentrate on who maintains airplanes...

"These are not TIMCO employees," Hagler said. "These companies provide contract labor to the aviation industry, including TIMCO."

This is garbage, and these companies should not be permitted to weasle out of indirectly employing illegal aliens by using this same loophole that Wal-Mart used. The fine for hiring and employing illegals must be increased and enforced.

"Those taken into custody were not direct TIMCO employees, but worked for labor brokers who operate as middlemen between the workers and the maintenance company, said Monty Hagler, TIMCO's spokesman and a Greensboro public relations executive.

My interpretation:

"We know that many of these foreigners are of dubious qualification, but lax Federal Regulations and a general sense of apathy allow us to hire them through middleman front companies billed as "employment agencies", somewhat insulating us if something bad goes down."

"Sure, 'Salim Bomb-Maker from Sudan' might slip through turning a wrench on a few critical engine bolts, but hey, we complied with the Feds.......and we kept wages low, more company profit"......and when the $h!t hits the fan, let Uncle chase down shadowy employment agencies based in South America, or some other non-investigatable part of the world."

Ignore the jerks. Most of the Open Border/Free Traitors on here are government workers and retirees living quite well off others' taxes.

Exactly so. Thats one scenario that will happen. Heres another one...

In the particular case of Mexico...where people can hold dual citizenship, somebody could reap the rewards of having a corporation based both in the US, say in a border town, and across the border in Mexico.

As an American company, using the Fed gov small disadvantaged business 8A set-aside ...they will compete directly with American business on Federal contracts, and be assured work. Guest workers will be flooding across the border to work on Federal taxpayer funded projects.

There were several NC churches who sponsored Sudanese refugees over the past 5-8 years.

I suspect these contract workers were doing the grunt work, janitorial, minimal skills.

I've got a friend who works at TIMCO. He's got a photo in his house of the American Airlines flight 77 plane (that hit one of the WTC towers) burping flaming fuel out of one engine during an overhaul at TIMCO.

Dear Jesus.... It's hard to admit that because of our lack of border protection, we're so exposed and vunerable to the evil empire of terrorism, we can't even admit that it is our own damn fault.

Frankly, this is quite worrisome. Airports were supposed to be the one place that was secure. Now this. And if it's like this at PTI, why should we think the other airports are any different?

In two days it will have been 3.5 years since 09/11/01. Still, undocumented aliens are working at the airports. Is it any wonder some of us are pi$$ed off about our government's lackadaisical attitude with regard to this nation's security.

People ask this quite often, but here goes again. What the hell is it going to take for our leaders to finally get their act together?

never fear, our brave law-makers are busy passing through the National ID that will userp State's rights once again. that will save us all. and don't forget - you can no longer carry a cigerate lighter on the a flight (what a RELIEF).. and i have it on good authority their checking grandma's shoes..

frankly.... they could undo every bill they have passed since 9-11 and arm the pilots, and send the military to our borders, and we'de be 100% better off..

Blah, blah, third world cesspool, blah."

You're right, it is Bush's fault. He could stop it in a heartbeat if he really wanted to.
