Because I have ALWAYS worn hats,I can't put my finger on the exact date that women stopped wearing them much, but I think that it was after Jackie left the White House.

It seems now that the only time you can get a woman to wear a hat at church is on Easter Sunday. So sad. I wear either a hat or a scarf on my head EVERYTIME I go into a church. Doing my hair on Sabbath is too much work.

I wear a hat to church and grocery marketing and when shopping and gardening and to many other places.Sometimes I wear scarves;it all depends.

I like hats. :-)

A few years ago I attended a wedding here in the US - although the bride and groom were both Scottish.

Only two people at the wedding wore hats - me and the piper!

The bride's father is a minister and even his wife did not wear a hat.
