Top Ten Reasons Why Islam Is Not the Religion of Peace

Ever since 9/11, Muslim leaders who have access to the national media have told us that Islam is the religion of peace and that violence does not represent the essence of Muhammad’s religion.

Even President Bush and Britain’s Prime Minister Blair have repeated this assertion, saying that Islam has been “hijacked” by a few violent fanatics. Is this true?

Sadly it is not, for empirical, observable facts demonstrate beyond doubt that Islam at its founding is filled with violence — in the life of Muhammad himself and in the Quran itself.

Hence, these Muslim apologists must stop misleading unsuspecting Westerners, and they must be honest about the heart of their religion, for once and for all.

Here are ten clear, verifiable reasons that explain why Islam is not the religion of peace.

Clear? In order to prevent the standard, reflexive “out of context” defense from Muslim apologists, the context of each verse in the Quran is explained either in this article or in the links provided within each of the ten reasons. No verse is taken out of context, and Muslim translators are used.

Verifiable? The readers are invited to look up each verse in the Quran in multiple translations, by visiting this website and typing in references, like so: 61:10-12. (61 is the chapter or sura, and 10-12 are the verses). Once at the site, they should ignore request for the transliterated Arabic titles of the chapters in the Quran, and just type in the numbers.

The 90+ suicide bombings against Israel during last 2 or 3 years
9/11 – just under 3000 Americans killed
6/01 - Bombing of a disco in Tel Aviv, Israel killed 21 people, mostly teenagers
10/12/00 - Suicide bombing of the U.S.S. Cole (17 US sailors were killed)
8/7/98 - Nairobi, Kenya bombing (224 people were killed and almost 5,000 were injured)
6/25/96 - Truck bombing of Khobar Towers in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, a residence of US military personnel. 19 US military personnel were killed
11/13/95 - Truck bombing of US National Guard training center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 7 people killed
1995 - The Islamic Jihad organization bombed the Egyptian embassy in Pakistan 
1994 - Hizballah agents bombed an Israeli cultural center Buenos Aires, Argentina. 
2/26/93 – First WTC bombing (7 Killed)
12/29/92 –bombing of hotel in Aden, Yemen
1992 - Imad Mugniyah allegedly bombed a Christian center in Argentina. 
1992 - Hizballah agents bombed the Israeli embassy in Argentina.
12/23/88 - A bomb onboard 757 airliner Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 270
4/5/86 - Terrorists working for the government of Libya bombed a disco in West Berlin, killing a Turkish woman and a US soldier, and injuring hundreds.
12/17/85 - Terrorists working for the government of Libya bombed the airports in Vienna and Rome, killing 20 people.
10/7/85 - Hijackers working for the government of Libya raided the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro near Egypt
6/14/85 - TWA Flight 847 from Athens to Rome was hijacked
12/3/84 - Kuwait Airways Flight 221 from Kuwait to Pakistan was hijacked and diverted to Tehran.
11/20/84 - Truck bomb exploded outside the Aukar, Lebanon annex of the US embassy in Beirut. 24 people killed
12/12/83 - Shiite suicide truck bomber working for the government of Iran crashed into the US embassy in Kuwait(6 killed)
10/23/83 Shiite suicide bombers from the Hizballah organization, with the support of the government of Iran, bombed barracks in Beirut, Lebanon where US Marines and French paratroopers were housed. 299 were killed, including 241 US Marines
4/18/83 - Hizballah suicide bomber with the support of Iran and Libya crashed a pickup truck full of explosives into the US embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. 63 people killed
1981 - Members of the Al-Jihad organization assassinated President Anwar Sadat of Egypt
4/80 - 6 Islamic terrorists seized the Iranian embassy in London. They announced that they would kill a hostage every half hour, and killed two
11/4/79 - 80 Iranian students invaded the US embassy in Tehran, Iran and took 52 US citizens hostage
1972 - Terrorists attacked the Olympics in Munich, Germany, killed 2 athletes, and took hostages and a helicopter. One of the terrorists threw a hand granade into the helicopter and killed all the hostages.

Doesn't mean they're all bad.

Reason #1... Islam is not a religion at all.. its a club.. with hazing and verbal hand shakes.. and knocks on the club house door for entry.. and club clothing(colors) like any gang.. Catholic Inquisition
Supression of the Hugenots

...and so forth. Obviously, by your logic, Christianity is just an excuse for bloodletting.

Honestly, on 9/11, when you saw planes flying into buildings, you didn't say to yourself:

"Those damn Swiss - we buy their chocolates and this is how they repay us"

I'm sorry, comparing Christian HISTORY to Islamic PRESENT makes no sense. Christianity- like most religions, evolved and is compatible with modern civilization.
Islam is not, does not want to be, and is-in fact- trying to take the rest of civilization back to the dark ages where it has REMAINED. Comparing Christian/other religions pasts to Islam's present is disingenuous at best.

Islam has no more place in modern civilization than any other brutal, barbaric 'religion' that worshipped blood and death and are now history. Disemboweling and human sacrifice would not be tolerated under the guise of 'religion' now. Why do some feel Islam must be tolerated just because they use modern(in some instances) methods? The Koran demands blood and death as plainly as an High Priest did in the past.

They are gone- Islam must go too.

While the Koran is often vague and contradictory, it is very clear on the duty of the Dar-al-Islam (House of Islam) to combat the Dar-al-Harb (House of War), which is basically everyone else.

Sura 2:191 commands Muslims, "Slay them [infidels] wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out, for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter."

Sura 8:39 commands Muslims, "Make war on them [infidels] until idolatry shall cease and God's religion shall reign supreme."

Sura 9:5 commands Muslims, "Fight and slay pagans wherever you find them; and sieze them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every strategem [of war]."

Sura 9:29 commands Muslims, "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

I'm not a fan of Islam. But it's pointless (or worse) to complain about things we can't change. We've got to "engage" with Islam the best we can, since it isn't going away.

Over time, we all hope it will evolve into something better. If not, we'll have to keep them contained with military might -- and that's going to be difficult, bloody and expensive for both sides.
