Teacher fired after school board finds he wrote hate mail
The Star Ledger ^ | Wednesday, March 09, 2005 | JENNIFER GOLSON

Back in November, three African-American teachers at an Elizabeth grammar school found Thanksgiving greeting cards in their school mailboxes that contained scrawled threats and racist hate messages.

Now Elizabeth school officials believe one of recipients was the author.

Rondell Taylor, 29, a special education teacher, was fired March 1 after school administrators determined he wrote the cards and left them for himself and two female colleagues at Peterstown School No. 3.

***Fajardo said the incident should have been labeled a hate crime by police. "Because it's a minority writing to another minority, it's not considered a bias crime," Fajardo said. "That, to me, is a flaw in the law."***

Scary and sad for the children that this guy is a School Board member.

There are a lot of these cases. Why do some minorities do it, i.e., send themselves hate-mail?

Seems to me it should be considered a hate crime because the intent was to foster dislike and distrust of whites. Oops, silly me - no such thing as a hate crime against whites.

So, if something like this would be considered a "hate crime", would teachers having sex with students be a "love crime"?

Ward Churchill also committed a hate crime. Why isn't that a good enough reason to fire him? Calling every American a "Little Eichmann" is a hate crime in my book.

1. Publicity. Since there are not that many real hate crimes, you can stage one and get on the news.
2. Money. Not sure how, but they can always find someone to sue, perhaps the school district.

For the same reason Tawana Brawley put hateful racist slogans on herself, and why the NAACP continues to manufacture racism. If ya can't find real racism, gotta make some. Or else how will you remain a victim?

A 'flaw'. Gee, ya think?

And yes it is scary, but this is even scarier (IMO).

If Rondell would have been 'Hispanic' then we are in a whole new ball game. It's the black hole of LE, as by the DOJ & FBI crime reporting standards, Hispanics are "White". It is then left up to the individual gubmint agent how to classify the Hispanics 'race'. It is truly a coin toss. If he decides the Hispanic is a minority (as they unusually claim they are) - no hate crime, BUT if he decides the Hispanic is 'white' - BINGO we have a hate crime.

If you take a look, a Loooooooong look (hours) at the DOJ stats as to 'white on black' Hate Crimes and then look at the icarceration numbers for 'whites', blacks' and "hispanics", you'll then see the farce in this methodology. In fact there is almost ZERO 'white on black' hate crimes percentage wise.

ex,
I think that they send these types of things to themselves,
because to call attention to a problem which doesn't exsist. They percive that we white people must feel this way, but do not act on it. It's Bush's fault

"If you can't find real racism, gotta make some."That's it in a nutshell.Do you think the truth (re:this fabricated incident) will make the nightly msm broadcasts? This(imo)shows just how desperate(and dishonest)some liberals/activists are,and the lengths they'll go to advance their cause.

Another fake hate crime. These are becoming so commonplace that ALL alleged hate crimes should be considered fake until determined otherwise. Many folks have been made fools of - at the University of Iowa students marched and rallied for days for a black College of Dentistry student who was the purported "victim" of hate messages. Then the security video monitor in a computer lab caught her in the act of writing hate messages and sending them to herself. Of course, in typical left-wing academia fashion, the response was continued sympathy for her - the reasoning for this was that she was so traumatized from past racist acts by society against her that she was suffering psychologically.

2C:16-1. Bias Intimidation.

a.Bias Intimidation. A person is guilty of the crime of bias intimidation if he commits, attempts to commit, conspires with another to commit, or threatens the immediate commission of an offense specified in chapters 11 through 18 of Title 2C of the New Jersey Statutes; N.J.S.2C:33-4; N.J.S.2C:39-3; N.J.S.2C:39-4 or N.J.S.2C:39-5,

(1)with a purpose to intimidate an individual or group of individuals because of race, color, religion, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, or ethnicity; or

(2)knowing that the conduct constituting the offense would cause an individual or group of individuals to be intimidated because of race, color, religion, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, or ethnicity; or

(3)under circumstances that caused any victim of the underlying offense to be intimidated and the victim, considering the manner in which the offense was committed, reasonably believed either that (a) the offense was committed with a purpose to intimidate the victim or any person or entity in whose welfare the victim is interested because of race, color, religion, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, or ethnicity, or (b) the victim or the victim's property was selected to be the target of the offense because of the victim's race, color, religion, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, or ethnicity.

I read the article and decided to take a look at this "flawed" law-took less than a minute. I couldn't believe that there would be languge exempting same race or whatever other protected class offenses and there isn't. It doesn't appear Fajardo even looked at the law before allowing himself to go on the record.

Regardless of how one feels about hate speech, this law is not flawed in the way Fajardo claims, but it is very very hard to prove in cases of same race offenses.

Additionally, the law requires that there be the commission of an underlying offense enumerated in the statute, which does not appear to be the case here. That is probably why the police did not even bother charging him even though he wrote these cards back in November. Clearly Fajardo seems eager to make a crimnal racial issue out this where termination is the appropriate course of action.

"Hate crime" is bull pukey. Either it's a crime, or it ain't. And a lot of the nonsense that has been criminalized today shouldn't waste police time.
