Sounded to me like he said "I'm the only one in this room special enough to carry a Glock 40." >>POW<<

Starting at "You need to train yourself in safe firearms handling,..." Spot on. This guy is a doofus.

Aside from the fact that this moron should never be allowed to handle a firearm, please tell me this guy is not really a cop. He's not, he's a federal agent. DEA, which is one step above BATFE when it comes to scraping the bottom of the barrel for recruits.
A guy looking like that, or like a redneck meth cooker, comes breaking down, or even knocking vigorously on, my door at Oh Dark Thirty (favorite time for raids) during a "wrong address" raid is going to be met with several rounds of .45 ACP, and probably either .30 Carbine or 12 ga #4 buck, depending on which of the later is nearer at hand.

There is no such thing as an accidental discharge. Just a way of trying to explain a negligent discharge.

At least he just shot himself and not someone else. I don't think he did shoot himself, in the sense of being struck by a bullet, unless you think he was standing there bleeding in front of the kids. The combustion gases may have given him quite a powder burn though. At least I hope they did.

Every owner with half a brain knows that there is no safety on the Glock (except the one between your ears)
Every Glock owner knows that there are three safeties but you override all of them when you pull the trigger.

I am still trying to decide who is a bigger doofus. The cop that handed the other cop the loaded gun or the cop who didn't check it himself.

I own several Glocks. I love mine, very nice and reliable. Just treat them like revolvers and you're ok.
Actually, I keep my 'house gun' Glocks without a round in the chamber, so the trigger is back. When the trigger is back, it's totally safe. I still treat it with respect though.

I think the hammer isn't visible. That's why I like my Ruger P97DC.

This is how POLITICAL CORRECTNESS is endangering ALL OF US. They give these idiots weapons without any TEST FOR BRAINS. A white guy doing this is history. But this colored jerk will be allowed this stupidity and he'll continue to threaten ALL OF US. huh? Tons of cops of all races/colors/creeds have accidentally discharged Glocks. I read about one or so a month on here.
Colored = lol.

It sure casts a different light on some of the other threads today re police shootings. If someone told me about this I wouldn't have believed it. I'm still thinking it must be some kind of staged video done as a joke. It's so far over the top in several ways I'm having difficulty believing it

Doesn't a glock (I'm trying to remember) have some sort of safety in the middle of the trigger that has to be depressed in order to fire it?
The auto's I have owned were always double action with exposed hammers. Don't like not being able to see the hammer, but thats just my preference.

Glocks are striker fired, but so are a lot of other guns out there now. The Walter P99, the very popular Springfield XD's are as well.
The XD and Glock do have a 'inside the trigger' latch that has to be pressed in.

Doesn't a glock (I'm trying to remember) have some sort of safety in the middle of the trigger that has to be depressed in order to fire it? Yes it's supposed to prevent the trigger from getting snagged on something and going off, and to prevent it from going off if it's dropped.
It's basically worthless. Don't put your finger in the trigger guard until you are ready to fire. It uses a striker instead of a hammer, and basically has no other safeties. I don't keep a round in the chamber (there is a little indicator that sticks out on the side), and wouldn't reccommend it if you like to keep one chambered.

Tooooo FUNNY!
"I'm the only person in this room professional enough to handle this Glock 40." BANG!
ANd then when he brought our the carbine the students panic. They did NOT want him to handle that one infront of them.
Can't believe this guy is a cop. Can NOT believe it.
