May I suggest to EVERYONE here that we stop referring to Terri as needing another SWALLOWING TEST, but instead say she needs SWALLOWING THERAPY.

Note that EVERY ONE of the VitalStim patients above FAILED their initial swallowing TESTS. But that was not their death sentence. The makers of this technology submitted to the FDA that it was 97.5% successful, based on clinical trials.

THAT is new evidence that did not exist when Terri was sentenced to death for not being able to swallow well enough to their standards.

IN FACT, with the new technology, FLORIDA should rewrite its laws on feeding tubes to make CERTAIN that these patients get state-of-the-art THERAPY first, not death.
