There's no such thing as a scientific proof. Except in the rather pedantic sense of the word "prove", meaning put to the test. Darwinian evolution has survived 145 years of being put to the test.
The "basis for ID" is the "god of the gaps" argument which has failed innumerable times in the past. I doubt it will be any more successful this time in the long run.
