Sounds good. What's the retail selling price?
This thing looked like a 1911 with hair on it's legs to me, but I'm no expert. I kinda like it.
Not sure what all the techno-babble means.
The only question that I would ask is: What is the stopping power?
If the gun won't stop an attacker, it doesn't matter how cleverly it is designed.
I just don't understand with a 'varmint' round like that, why they'd have such a foolishly LONG barrel. This should be a snubnose, that would *really* help sighting radius and grouping at 1000 yards....
/sarc OFF
I guess if you're provisioning your military and only want to stock one type of ammo for both long and handguns, OK....
The TRUTH is...
It is NOT small enough to be concealed easily.
It is NOT armor piercing, unless someone ILLEGALLY acquires some AP ammo for it from a criminal in the military or some law enforcement agency.
It is no more capable of long range accuracy than any handgun, due to the fact that it is the shooter's capability, more than the weapon that achieves this.
And it is MUCH less a cop-killer handgun than much more prolific, smaller and less expensive handguns AND, a cop's OWN handgun, are.
In FACT, absolutely ZERO cops have been killed with this relatively new firearm, and ZERO, or at least - a STATISTICAL ZERO number, will be killed by criminals with this particualr handgun, EVEN IF the scumbag anti-gunners don't succeed in banning it.
I have a "Balister Molina" Argentine copy but without the grip safety. One of the most accurate handguns I own. Bought if as surplus but shoots as good or better than more expensive models.
I think they are between $750 and $800.
FN makes a great FAL. A loader .308 you won't find. Well, maybe my Saiga.
"In actual shooting into gelatin according to my friend, Ed Sanow, the bullet track was very similar to that of 9 mm +P+ 115 gr. JHP, a proven fight stopper at 92%. The bullet seems to tumble quickly releasing its energy in a short distance. When I shot a 4-1/2 pounds, 3-1/2 inch thick pork shoulder through the bone, I found that AP ammunition completely penetrated the shoulder and exited the shoulder just barely, sticking out of the fat. The bone, however, was shattered and bone fragments were thrown out into the wound channel making the diameter of the pulped meat wound channel over two inches. Quite impressive I thought and it would seem to verify that the round can be effectively used against non-armored targets."
"Testing it on a military Kevlar vest established it went through three layers of material (front, back and another front to put it another way). Again quite impressive. Anyone wearing the vest clearly would have been hit by the projectiles and seriously injured. Interestingly recovered bullets showed only rifling marks, no expansion or other distortion."

This round just screams "overpenetration". If 9mm FMJ at approx 1000-1100 fps tends to punch through unarmored targets leaving a small entry- and exit wounds, would a 5.7mm round do any better?
