Senator Dick Durbin Holding Social Security Sham Town Hall in Springfield, IL 9:30AM March 7th
vanity | March 6, 2005 | the eagle has landed

Posted on 03/06/2005 9:44:10 PM PST by TheEaglehasLanded

Channel 17 in Decatur Illinois stated that Dick Durbin, Dingy Harry Reid's hatchetman will be hosting a town hall meeting at 9:30 Tommorrow Morning at 426 South 7th Street, Springfield near Lincoln's home.

I'm sure he won't mention how much him and his cronies like Senator John Corzine, Robert Rubin, Terry McAuliff, and Howard Dean whose father was a top executive for Dean Witter, etc have benefitted from Wall Street?

Ask Durbin how much has he paid into his "Thrift Savings Account" and how much is the current value? What is the average return on investment?

Many people wouldn't have needed social services had we had thrift savings accounts to get a higher return. Remember Dow was at 800 in 1982, now almost 11,000. That's almost 1400% return in 23 years

Thanks for the post about the socialist scam artist Durbin and his anti-freedom Democratic Crime Syndicate cronies.

I don't know what the entry requirements are, WAND TV came on late today so the first I heard of this town meeting scheduled for Tommorow @ 9:30 AM

11 hours before the meeting and we know the AFSCME folks that have been told and their pensions and personal investment accounts (deferred comp), and AARP that has Wall Street to thank for the retirement of many of their members let alone selling Scudder Investment products.

I'm betting Dick Durbin vote yes for Dick Durbin making money on Wall Street with IRA's, Thrift Savings accounts that he deplores other people from doing.

Get me the vote numbers on the lockbox and debt issue.

Get some pictures of these crowds from the dems events.

I noticed from the media shots that the attendees appears to be well past the 50's age group.

And .. I've also noticed the President's groups appear to be much younger.

This is why the dems keep saying their constitutients are saying NO to SS. It's a typical bait and switch from the dems.

Durbin is just incredible on so many things.

I watched him discussing amendments he offered to the Bankruptcy Reform bill last week. At the time he offered it his was amendment 49 - and surely not the last as Democrats seek to stop the reform legislation. He spoke of Enron and Adelphia to conjure an image of fraud and embezzlement, although he incorrectly attributed the infamous $7,000 shower curtain to Adelphia, rather than to the Tyco scandals. He then mentioned Bethlehem Steel as an example of a firm that went bankrupt and left retirees without pension or health benefits. Well - first of all the PGBC will back up at least some part of the pensions. Secondly - the handful of major corporate bankruptcies he mentions (Enron, MCI, etc.) are not the point of bankruptcy reform - some of the 1.6M annual personal bankruptcies are. Durbin spoke of Enron as if amending the bankruptcy code today (which will go into effect in 180 days after signing) would do something to affect a change in Enron's disposition. He also spoke apparently in ignorance of the plethora of federal criminal statutes that already respond to the fraud in the Enron situation.

The thing that galls me most about Durbin is not his ignorance - it's the delivery. He slips the knife between the ribs with a smile and with a radio announcer's vocal delivery. He is a POS.

The dems are all senile or just plain lunatic.

They all need to be retired from office.

Don't worry. If you are not a government worker or a labor union worker, or a greedy geezer AARP member, you won't get in. No way, no how.

Dicky Durbin is a little turdlette. We in IL apologize for him, however, he's elected by Da Mayor from Chicago, NOT the people of the Great State...
