A prominent leader of Great Britain's Sephardi Jewish community will immigrate to Israel on Saturday night, Israeli cable TV station Hot News reported Sunday. Rabbi Pinchas Toledano, who serves as the head of the Sephardi rabbinical court in England, will immigrate under the sponsorship of the Jewish Agency, which has recently focused its efforts on bringing Jews from Western Europe to Israel.
The agency's initiative is aimed at addressing the plight of Jews who have been subject to a surge in anti-Semitism.
Toledano is considered one of the more prominent Jewish figures in Western Europe, according to Hot News. Officials in the British Jewish community expect Toledano's move will encourage others to consider immigration to Israel.
"We are happy and proud that Rabbi Pinhas Toledano chose to immigrate to Israel through the Jewish Agency," Tomer Orni, the Jewish Agency official who heads the organization's delegation to Western Europe, told Hot News. "We hope that Toledano's aliyah [immigration to Israel] will pave the way to Israel for his community."
FYI...
The smart ones are getting out while there's still time. Hanging around too long at the party can be bad for ones health.
Time to take the flag down.

A sad commentary on the current state of Europe.
"Next year in Jerusalem!"
