Another lib... from the link to fishbowlDC the blogger (GRAFF)
Graff noted that he had worked for Howard Dean’s presidential campaign. He added that he’d been cleared into the White House before.

<sarcasm>
More subterfuge from Bush's brain the mad scientific genius known as Karl Rove.
</sarcasm>

I don't know why or what the rules are, but in the eyes of the media, he is considered a blog and is usually the very first example given of a blog.

Exactly. The word is becoming synonymous with writings on the web and that's just the way it has morphed. There's no sense in constantly saying "but he's not a blog" or "we're not a blog".

Interestingly, the NYT article on this fellow tells us all about his background -- except for the fact that he worked for Howard Dean last year and is therefore a liberal political operative. "All the News That's Fit to Print."

From his own website:

Garrett Graff is vice president of communications at EchoDitto, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based technology consulting firm. A Vermont native, he served formerly as deputy national press secretary on Howard Dean's presidential campaign and, beginning in 1997, was then-Governor Dean's first webmaster. In college, he was a news writer and executive editor at the Harvard Crimson, Harvard University's daily newspaper, where he wrote more news articles than any other writer in half-a-century and held internships at ABCNews' Political Unit and at the Atlantic Monthly. He is also a frequent speaker on blogging and the intersection of politics and technology.

Great, one more lib in the press room!
