The best example of the corruption of the current system takes place in Florida. My grandmother lived in Century (Cemetery) Village. There was a young Dr. just starting out who would make the rounds going apartment to apartment just talking to the old people and writing their prescriptions. He was very nice and talked these lonely people for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. For his efforts, medicare paid him $60 per session. He would visit 40-80 people at a time. So the government was paying at least 2400 per day so he could help fight their loneliness. Definitely a perversion of the system.
