TAIPEI: A strong earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale rocked high-rise buildings in Taiwan early today, the Seismology Centre said. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The quake struck at 3.06am with its epicentre 6.2km north of the eastern coastal town of Suao and 8.5km underground.
A quake with a magnitude of 4.2 struck seven minutes before the major quake. There were a series of aftershocks including one measured at 5.00 on the Richter scale at 3:16am and one with a magnitude of 4.7 at 3:27am, the centre said.

I'm in Taiwan on business and was rudely awaken Sunday morning by my bed shaking and the TV cabinet rattling. I'm so glad you told me this is GW's fault. For sure all we need to know is who to blame for any given problem, rather than actually know the facts behind it.
