"There were no tubes of any kind attached to her body. She was completely free of any restraints that would have indicated any type of artificial life support. Not even her feeding tube was attached and functioning when we entered, as she is not fed 24 hours a day."
Please. Just let Terri go home with her parents and other relatives that love her! This is SO unfair. There but for the Grace of God go I.
My cousin had a rough birth and ended up with CP. Wendy lived a great life with all of us (her cousins) until she was well into her 30's. Whenever I see any film footage of Terri, I'm reminded of Wendy. Wendy was no worse off than Terri is, and dammit! There was a Real Live Person inside of her disabled body. For Pity Sake...my Aunt trusted all of us kids to push her around and look out for her and INCLUDE her in whatever we were doing...from just being kids playing on the lawn to taking her to school dances, etc. Wendy had a great life; Teri deserves no less!
So absolutely unfair...
...to starve an innocent human being to death.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 4, 2005 -- Kate Adamson, award winning author and disability rights activist, by request of the Schindler family, has launched a campaign to save Terri Schiavo from starvation.Like Terri, the doctors felt that Kate was someone who should not or could not be saved. Kate suffered a catastrophic brain stem stroke and was dependent on a feeding tube for all her nourishment. Kate had her feeding tube turned off for over a week.
Now fully functional except for some paralysis on the left side of her body, Kate is in the unique position of knowing what it is like to be starved. She is hopeful that her story will get people to stop before they sign on to the idea that Terri Schiavo should be starved to death. Unlike Michael Schiavo who is trying to have his wife starved to death, Kate's husband Steve fought to save her life.....
In other words your Aunt taught you how to be a human being. In contrast, this is what the other side thinks is best.
