I thought these people couldn't get any sicker. What are they going to do when they finally meet their maker. Say "Oh it was all a mistake".

I recall Bishop Sheen once said that the greatest offense he could think of was to blaspheme the Eucharist

They'll say, "Oh it wasn't my idea. I just went along with what the others were doing because I needed my job".
To: Coastal
Isn't NBC one of those old fashioned television broadcast stations? They still around?

Blaspheme of the Eucharist is not doing the same of God.
That is what is a sin.

I am having a very difficult time thinking of non-violent responses to this.

And they wonder why Red State Bible-belters and other brethren of faith are sick and tired of Blue State "tolerance," and are willing to vote their convictions.

I don't know about you, but I haven't watched NBC in so long I couldn't tell you what channel it is :)The various flavors of Law and Order aren't half bad. They even usually have a semi-conservative slant to them. But other than these shows, NBC is a snake pit.

Archbishop Sheen is correct. In the Eucharist, according to Catholic belief, the bread is transformed into the Body and Blood of Christ, which is to say that it becomes Jesus as God and Man.
Like the Incarnation and the Passion this is an incredible willingness on God's part to empty Himself out and submit himself to Human sinners. The blasphemy of using God's name in vain is nothing compared to the blasphemy of abusing this act of saving humility on God's part.

Me neither, I only watch the alphabets during football season.
When my friends and co-workers talk about the latest sitcom or the latest "reality" garbage, I don't have one thing to say, unusual for me, as I have an opinion about almost everything.
