We have new homes here with roofs caving in, hell, even a few new HOMES collapsing due to slipshod construction here in SoCal !!

I have seen a guy use crazy glue on a flap type cut that probably should have had stitches.

He said that crazy glue was developed for this in Viet Nam but I do not know if that is in any way true.

Thanks for your concern, Lurker. This was years ago, and no, no tetanus shot.

My jaw's hurting now, though, but that's cause I'm getting a root canal on Monday (my birthday, no less!).

Duct tape is great, but for a really cool bandage, try Super Glue.

How about the super glue getting into your bloodstream? But maybe it sets so fast it doesn't get a chance to

I prefer duct tape."

I prefer masking tape.

I've never used it on a real bad cut.

Actually, Cyanoacrylate (super glue) is now used in hospitals instead of stitches. Of course, it's medical grade and is likel highly purified compared to teh Home Depot stuff. Of course, is duct tape sterile? Doubt it.

I have a friend with experience from Military and as an EMT tell me that he used to carry a few tampons around with him to stop bleeding from bullet wounds.

I amputated my abdomen once. Most unfortunate. A bit of superglue, duct tape, and off we went.

I'm surprised you had the guts...

Duct tape works in almost all situations, short of open-heart surgery.

LOL! < :D

Good point, only 1" penetration isn't probably even to code.

Maybe the story was not complete and he was securing stud to stud. Then used the wrong nail, which didn't penetrate the concrete and ricochet into his eye????

I can see that happening in individual homes being built by average general contractors.

In any track of homes, such a mess would be uncommon, because they do that for a living all the time and they've had more experience and can see trouble easier.

Builders want the stuff to have no major trouble for at least 10 years, then their responsibility lapses and they could care lass if it caves in, explodes or sinks.

Energizer could use him in a commercial if he looks OK still. He took a licking and still came out ticking.
