What a great thread! Am I correct in surmising this is a weekly thing? This is the first time I've seen it.
God Bless all our young men and women serving in the military. They're well appreciated by folks like us but under-appreciated by the masses who take them for granted. The people of Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel, etc. have them as the example of freedom, courage and righteous determination for a just cause that they so sorely need to persevere. God's work is truly being done.
I don't have a request, rather a suggestion, for your next thread. Billy Joel's "Good Night, Saigon", I've always been moved by this song because I see it as a tribute to our Viet Nam vets, who came home to ridicule and contempt when they were every bit as courageous and dedicated as any "popular" war veterans. We can never thank our troops enough, in any generation, but, in a larger sense, we can't apologize to them enough for spitting in the face of honor.
Thanks for the music.
Bob

Welcome to the Canteen, scars, where we honor our troops, our veterans, their families, and our allies every day. We are here 24(mostly)/7/365 to provide a place for our military to stop in, pull up a chair, and enjoy a joke, hear a song (requests taken), read some history, enjoy a cyber meal (no calories), hear about our families lives, join in the silliness, and just relax. Each day is a new thread, and each Saturday is the Saturday Jukebox. Come on in and pull up a chair.
