And it served as a laudable counterbalance in the '90s, a period of leftist hegemony so powerful that the mass media never batted an eyelash when American civilians were incinerated by the federal government and US military right here on US soil. A mass media that LAUGHED at the public outrage which stemmed from a small boy in Florida kidnapped at gunpoint by jackbooted thugs who DID arrive in helicopters. A mass media that cheered as Clinton ordered Serbs shot while protecting Muslim terrorists - the consequences we will continue to reap for a VERY long time to come. A mass media which acted as the willing apologists of the Clinton administration whenever a witness turned up conveniently dead or an incriminating document was conveniently shredded...it was always an accident, a coincidence or an honest mistake, while we conservatives were told we are paranoid. The mass media never ONCE questioned why it collectively only asked softball questions of leftist politicians.
In fact, it was the mass media that had mainstream Americans convinced that our beliefs were in the minority in this country. Thank God for talk radio and the internet, which balance traditional mass media hegemony.

Rall is projecting so far he probably qualifies for more than one zip code. I've never seen the daily, detailed death wishes against opposing politicians on FR that I see all the time on liberal blogs, or ANY for that matter.
