I want to believe it, I hope it's true. It would be a great relief to everyone to know that the murder of this family wasn't motivated by some evil cleric's fatwa against perceived enemies of islam.
However, and I guess you all knew this was coming, islam can't accuse anyone of bigotry as the result of speculation that the crime may have been 'religiously' motivated. Their numerous threats based upon the koranic requirement that all infidels should die or don't deserve to live, is what pointed the finger straight at them. Not us.
It's time for islam to do a little house-cleaning in the West and remove the clerics who preach 'death to the infidel' and stop telling their followers that everyone other than a muslim is a dirty kuffar.

It nauseates me no end that CAIR PAID for a press release announcing that the murders were deemed no relation to Islam.

Same here, Fred.

I really want to believe it as well, but there is so much here that makes little or no sense. Many people where I live wish to believe that as well, but nothing here makes it look like other than what we have stated before.

What is particularly striking is the length of time it took to see that someone was using the ATM card/PIN-code, and then act on it. According to every cop I know, that is the FIRST thing they look for. Besides, the so-called perpetrators lefts scad of nice jewelry about at the scene---jewelry that could have easily been "converted" into cash.

Like I have said---I keep hoping that it WAS "merely" a robbery---but see little to prove that true.

This is an excellent point; and one which bears repeating (and probably will need to be repeated in the days, weeks, years to come).

The idea that this was an islamic hate crime did not grow in a vacuum. There were very clear signals from the islamic community itself that lead many people to believe this was a ritual anti-Christian slaughter. The pictures on an islamic web site of the family captioned by statements like "The pig and his wife are dead, praise be to Allah" and such only lead to further speculation of this sort.

And further, let's keep in mind who deserves our sympathy and prayers, and that is the Armanious family. I pray they have found some peace in God.
