The "Fish Empathy Project"?

1) What kind of smelly hippies make up this "Project"?

2) Lobsters aren't fish.

The largest lobster I ever ate was about seven pounds.

Lobsters, belonging to the same phylum as insects, pretty much gross me out. :)

I just can't get past the fact that I'm essentially eating a large ocean-going wood louse.

I dunno what it is...I can eat cow and pig just fine, but if it's got more legs than four it gives me the heebie-jeebies.

Anyway, I'm told Lobster is best when it's shell is still reasonably soft after a molt and it's young, within the 7 year range, and past that the meat gets somewhat stringy.

Lobster used to be considered servant food in colonial times because there used to be so many of them, you could go collect hundreds of them in tidepools on the beach at low tide, and they were significantly larger, reaching as many as five feet in length.

By those standards, Bubba was a shrimp. (horrible pun intended.) And if lobster meat gets more unapalatable with age, you can figure there was a reason those larger, older lobsters of years gone by were considered something less than a delicacy.

Good run, Bubba...35 years is nothing to sneeze at when your brain is even smaller than a Democrat's. :)

I believe "dirt flour" would be made from dirt.

Dunno -- a slab of prime rib and about a pound of Alaska King Crab legs sounds mighty good...

I took my soon to be ex-wife out on her birthday for her first and last live lobster dinner in Redondo Beach, California on the pier on January 15, 1967. She said her first bite dipped in melted butter wasn't bad. Then she asked the waiter for ketchup and said it tasted much better covered in ketchup.

Where is the proof of this?
Bubba was likely the last intelligent critter left in the N.E. ,blue country, lower the flags to half mast, and play Taps, for Bubba!
