MARATHON, Fla. -- When rescuers started counting a large group of stranded dolphins in the Florida Keys this morning, they couldn't believe how many there were. So far, the count stands at 96.
A group of veterinarians, members of marine mammal rescue groups and volunteers are caring for the wayward rough-tooth dolphins that stranded themselves just off Marathon Key Wednesday afternoon.

"Meanwhile, a Florida woman faces starvation and the media thinks it is no big deal."
I missed that headline. "MEDIA THINKS FLORIDA WOMANS STARVATION-NO BIG DEAL"
Exactly how does posting this story have ANYTHING to do with saving Terri's life?
I admire they're commitment to a jump start on mini-camp, but it looks like it's gonna be another 4-12 season.
im sure the fanatical would gladly pitch this scenario in the continued demonization of the husband.
Has anyone considered the possibility that the dolphins want to die and we should give them that right?
Quite frankly, I don't think there's any link between Terri and this story, and your manufacturing of one is wrong.
There's lots of news out there. Not all of it has to do with Terri. For all you know, the people rescuing these dolphins may well be supporting Terri's fight. You don't know, but you're willing to try to cook up some sort of link here.
It is not a zero-sum thing.
"Mahi Mahi Recipes"
Different kind of dolphin. Mahi Mahi is a fish. These are more properly termed porpoises...they are mammals.
The local police had to shoot a pit bull dog here when it attacked an officer trying to arrest its owner. Made me think of the Save Terri group.
"Wow, that is a real stretch."
Not as much as you would think... Dr. Joe Champion, who did Terri's telephone therapy, also works on a dolphin telepathy project ( when he's not trying to transmutate lead into gold ). Maybe he called them in as a protest.
Has anyone consulted George Costanza? He's a marine biologist, you know.
Yeah- but his was a whale wasn't it?
isn't it also dauphin fish?
Someone should call George anyhow.
Correctamundo; and a very tasty fish too when fresh and properly prepared. While bicycling home from work I ride through Kewalo basin and I've noticed that the day boats have been catching a lot of mahi lately. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Fresh Mahi sandwich for lunch!
Also, Mahi Mahi, or Dorado as they are also known, are the "Dolphins" on the US Navy's Submariner's badge.
I have learned something new today on Free Republic. What a great group of people here. Thanks.
Can anyone tell me what stranded Dolphins have to do with Terri? I can't see the correlation.
I couldn't figure out the connection, but I don't have a picture of a bunny with a pancake to post.
That's because you're probably a normal, well-adjusted person.
Some local news-channel's obsession with stranded dolphins has nothing to do with the Schiavo situation.
IIRC, there is a dolphin research center at Marathon Key. At least these guys beached themselves at a location where they might find some help.

"Beginning in late November last year and continuing until the end of February, Terri received daily, hour-long therapy sessions by telephone with company president Dr. Joe Champion or one of his therapists."

"When the Operator of the ADAM Technology connects with the patient by telephone, a Physical connection is established. Once this occurs and instructions are established within the computer, a communication can be established between the Operator, ADAM and the Patient. This connection requires the willingness of a Patient and the concentration of the Operator."
