Some affiliates are looking for alternatives. I don't know if the trend is still holding, but several knocked CBS out completely, going with Sienfeld reruns, as the ratings were better.

Put Kommie Katie in as his replacement and the numbers will stay near the bottom.

In the world of the teleputer, broadcasters, educators, investors, and filmmakers, who thought they could never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people, are going to discover they were wrong. Life after Television

Yeah, I know, and I would have the same sympathy for the station manager you cite. Unfortunately, the innocent often get caught up in the consequences brought on by others.

In 2000, my fellow pilots at UAL conducted a selfish slow down to force the company to give us an inflated contract. I did not participate in the slow down and spoke against it to no avail. We hurt passengers and our business suffered when many boycoted us. The union, counting on a short public memory, was unconcerned; "They will be back." they said. Then 9/11 hit while we were in this weakened position. Now we are bankrupt and I am suffering along with the rest.

So I don't wish for a Denver Post or CBS bankruptcy with a cavalier disregard for the innocents who might suffer. However, there are larger concerns. I believe that the national damage done by CBS and their ilk is serious enough to push for their reform or, if necessary, their demise, even if some innocents are unfortunately hurt in the process.

I dumped the Rocky Mountain News the day they did the lovefest over bill clinton's book. They had him on the front page, full page love articles about him on page 3, all of page 5 was devoted to bill, hill and kerry and then the entire mid-pages had full color pictures of people fawning over him. They keep calling to get me back and I tell them I will not return. Now I get freebies at my office and at my home. I have to call them to stop littering my driveways.

I agree. The Rocky Mountain News is not any different from the Denver Post in their liberal agenda. I think they all went to the "Goebbels School of Propaganda Journalism."

When I was in Vietnam, CBS used to make me so angry with their pro VC and pro NVA coverage that I started calling them the "Communist Broadcasting System." They haven't changed at all over the years. They are beyond reform. I hope they go bankrupt.
