Armed men rob six in tae kwon do class
Richland County deputies are looking for three men who robbed a tae kwon do class.
About 8 p.m., the robbers entered the World Tae Kwon Do Center, 7224 Middle St., and pulled out handguns, Sgt. Mack McLendon said. The men took jewelry, cell phones and other personal belongings from six people at the center, he said. The three also took an unknown amount of cash from the business, he said.
The men stole two vehicles and fled, McLendon said.
One of the cars was described as a tan 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier with S.C. license tags 636 NHN. The other car was a silver 2000 Lincoln Continental with S.C. license tags 622 HFC.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 576-3000 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 559-TIPS.

After all, that seems to be about all these modern "martial" artists are good for.
Shocked I asked him *why* & he told me, "I'd rather they say, 'there he goes than there he lays.' I'll catch up to 'em one day, when they don't have their gun.".

You'll never see this happen at a shooting range.
My uncle told me many years ago that they quit making "bad guys" when they invented gun powder.

And so? Martial arts are no match for firearms, except in very specific situations. Black belt or not.
Exactly the reason why one might find me at the shooting range but not the Tae Kwon Do studio. :-)
Wouldn't ya like to see somebody *try* to make that happen at your local range? I think I'm gonna have to relate this story there.

I'm guessing this didn't happen in Texas. My jujitsu instructor and all the senior students pack. They're just as much into guns as swords and nunchakus.
you missed my point, the robbers would not have attacked a class of black belts because there would be the thought of one of them actually fighting back.
Robbing the moms means they have money in their purse, fancy cars, fewer witnesses...
I have disarmed people with bats, bottles, chairs, 1 Knife, but never a gun.
I would not even try unless the gun was touching my body somewhere, you just aint fast enough unless the gunman is distracted
