Could this be a screw up in Babelfish translation.....or was this explosion caught by a passing satellite?
Doubt if it is a translation error. My guess is that eyes in the sky keep a close watch over Beirut/ Lebanon.

They can't "keep watch" over any particular patch of ground. They circle the Earth in a particular orbit that can only be changed slightly and even that only a limited number of times. Spy satellites are NOT geosynchronous.
I wonder if some of the "asphalt" that they describe being thrown long distances could really be pieces of the faced of that near by building. That stuff had to go somewhere.
Oh, I know that...that's why I said 'eyes' & the ME area generally being an area 'of interest'. (US isn't the only one watching. Good chance that if there is film, the Israelis captured it.) Good that you brought this up though. Some people might not know.
