'Fire back if needed'

New edict allows Bedouin soldiers to kill settlers who attack them; move comes in the wake of reports that rabbis permit targeting non-Jewish soldiers

By Ronny Sofer

TEL AVIV - A leading Bedouin cleric has issued a religious edict allowing Bedouin soldiers to kill anyone who attempts to harm them in the process of settlement evacuation, Channel 2 reported Wednesday.

"Whoever attempts to harm Bedouin soldiers…shouldn't think they would just stand there and do nothing," said Sheikh Kamal Abu Nadi, whose rulings are respected by families whose sons serve in the IDF.

Notably, Druze, Bedouin, and even some Muslim youngsters choose to serve in the IDF. The cleric himself served in the army for 11 years.

The move was initiated by Bedouin soldiers' group chairman Faisal Abu Nadi.

The edict comes in the wake of unconfirmed reports that rabbis have issued an edict allowing far right activists to shoot at non-Jewish soldiers during settlement evacuation.

The police are currently looking into the reports.

'Anything is possible'

"Our soldiers are expected to take part in evacuating Gush Katif residents," Faisal Abu Nadi told Ynet Wednesday. "They too, just like any other soldiers, have the basic right to protect themselves."

"I hope the soldiers would not have to use the authority provided by the Sheikh," he said. "I'm certain our soldiers would refrain from any immoral act."

Abu Nadi said he believes anything is possible in the current atmosphere.

"If they murdered Rabin, what's a Muhammad or an Abdullah," he said. "It's not as impossible as I thought it was before."

I hope and pray the settlers will be sensible and do what the law requires -- leave Gaza.

I would point out that the Bedouin soldiers are volunteers in the IDF. They are Israel's best trackers. They serve and defend their country with honor. Any solidier, Jewish or not, has a right to defend themselves.

Oh, and the Brooklyn Kahanist extremists-from-afar can call me insane all they like. Those who fight to defend Israel command my respect far more than they do.

If only they treated troublemaking enemy foreigners the same way, this might be fair.

unconfirmed reports that rabbis have issued an edict allowing far right activists to shoot at non-Jewish soldiers

Well, now we have a confirmed report of a Bedouin cleric, Sheikh Kamal Abu Nadi, telling his people to go and kill Jews who resist.

As far as "rabbis" issuing any such decree this is only a rumor.

Unfortunately there are people who are desperate to smear, vilify and demonize the "settlers" so that they are made to seem less than human. That way it will be easier to inflict "collateral damage" on them.

Oh, and the Brooklyn Kahanist extremists-from-afar can call me insane all they like. Those who fight to defend Israel command my respect far more than they do.

Nobody has called you insane, so don't attack anyone who disagrees with your opinions a "Brooklyn Kahanist extremist-from-afar." You are not the only one here who has loved ones in the Holy Land.

I would point out that my son is also a volunteer in the IDF. He is a U.S. citizen and he chose to join, he was not drafted. He is a credit not only to the haredi community but to all the people of Israel and Jews worldwide.

Even if the settlers are being forced from their homes (which will be given over to their enemies lock, stock and barrel) under the excuse of a so-called "democratic process" (actually a big SCREW YOU from the crafty politician who reneged on his campaign promises), to vilify, demonize and marginalize this community is utterly despicable.

Heroic Jewish Pioneers will resist through peaceful CIVIL Disobedience. If anyone fires the first shot it will be Sharon's Bolshevik troops.

Elon: Karadi's a Liar Who Incites Against Yesha Residents

MK Benny Elon (National Union) said in Knesset session that Police Chief Moshe Karadi is lying about the existence of a halakchic ruling purporting to allow violence against non-Jewish soldiers, in the event that the IDF will be called upon to uproot Jewish residents of Gaza and northern Samaria.

Calling the Police Chief a “liar” on three occasions during the Knesset session, Elon said Karadi “is spilling the blood of Yesha [Judea, Samaria and Gaza] residents. The news media has been celebrating for three days over the police chief’s media spin” about a non-existent rabbinical ruling.

“The police chief is a liar and I demand that he come out officially and deny the existence of the halachic ruling. The police chief is endangering the lives of the religious community and of those faithful to the land of Israel,” said Elon.

Ya’akov Edri, Vice Minister of Internal Security, the ministry responsible for the police department, severely criticized Elon’s use of the term ‘liar’ in the Knesset session. “You used the term ‘liar’ three times, something that is very severe. You must not say such things,” responded Edri.

The defense and security apparatus has no information that such a ruling had in fact ever been made. Despite this, the media has been playing out the disinformation for a number of days, interviewing Bedouin and Druze soldiers about how they would react if violently attacked by Yesha residents during the Gaza withdrawal. The media even interviewed a Moslem cleric in the Negev who issued a ruling that Moslem soldiers must respond with gunfire if attacked by Jewish residents.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Security has already issued a statement saying that a halakhic decision allowing Jews to act violently against non-Jewish IDF soldiers “does not exist”.

FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel ping list.

WARNING: This is a high volume ping list

I hope and pray the settlers will be sensible and do what the law requires -- leave Gaza.

And I pray that Sharon finally realizes his folly or is forced from office before this stupidity takes place.

It realy looks like the leftists are preparing to create a blood bath when they steal the homes of the conservatives. The cordinated lies setting the stage is what I would consider proof of pre-meditated murder, instead of manslaughter.

Isn't it like the Godless Jews, to set up Muslim IDF brigadgs, then empower them to kill Jews as they take their homes from them. Arabs and Secular Jews finaly find common ground, killing Jews that believe in God.

I hope your son is safe out there. Will he be forced to be involved with this disengagement or is he stationed elsewhere?

Kol hakavod to your son and all our sons who protect us against our enemies.

May I point out that the Druse and Bedouin soldiers who serve in the IDF are also volunteers and as such put their families in danger of vengeance in addition to the personal danger experienced by all who serve in our armed forces.
