President Bush had some strong words to Syria to get out of Lebanon, noted here.
He and Vice President Cheney welcomed and congratulated the World Series Cham-peens, the Boston Red Sox, who ended a drought of Biblical proportions with their first World Series win in 86 years. With Speaker Hastert and Senator Stevens, he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to Jackie Robinson's widow, Rachel Robinson, in the name of her husband.
In Arnold, Maryland, the president participated in a job training and education dialogue, linked here.
Secretary of State Condi Rice attended a one-day London meeting, info here, to discuss Iran's nuclear life, the Palestinians, etc. She put off a planned trip to Canada next month, a move seen as a rebuff over Canada's rebuff of the North American missile shield.
Senator Kerry positioned himself obscenely close to the president at Bush's remarks honoring Jackie Robinson.
Other than that crude interruption, enjoy today's visit to Sanity Island.

Borrowing Gretchen's ribbon for the time being. That's okay, I got it via the five-finger discount at google.com.

And whom would you like to thank as part of your "couldn't have done it without them" types? Oh there's so many people to thank. My agent, my publicist, my stylist ... oh [sniff] I promised myself I wouldn't cry!
To: DrDeb
You've got a stronger stomach than I, DrDeb -- I couldn't have tolerated listening to that utterly partison dribble by Soderberg ... Blech!! .. LOL

Hmm, I'm guessing that you already had that particular photo in your archives and thus knew the identity of the aforementioned Ms. Hawkins and Mr. Pepper?

Very appropriate. I think Pepper had a few very senior moments before he was finished, if I'm remembering him correctly.
Speaking of senior moments, have you'all heard Sheets Byrd's 'Republicans are Nazis' rant or Ted Kennedys screeching, raving, semi-incoherent indictment of credit card companies from the Senate floor today?
Hello....hello?
