Let's not underrate the amount of work Kerry has dome in the Senate.
He got his name on every piece of anti-gun legislation written in the past 15 years, voted for every tax hike in teh last 20, wrote legislation banning the importation of Samurai swords, shredded all documentation pertaining to sightings and other info of POWs and MIAs in Viet Nam, campaigned vigorously for Permanent Normalized Trade Relations with China and killed the Viet Nam Human Rights Act, which would have tied non-humanitarian aid to that country to measurable improvements in Hanoi's human rights record (so the blood is still pouring onto his hands)
Kerry has QUITE a "record" in the senate. Demanding that we honor a bloody communist traitor is just another feather in his cap.
Which Navy does Kerry claim to have been an ensign in? I recall that all officers in the US military (this was in the 1960s) went through the security clearance for at least a level of "secret". One of the questions I remember specifically asking organizations that you belonged to. The W. DeBois Society or something like that was on the proscribed list. Along with outfits like the communist party and the Abraham Lincoln society. Kerry's gone Alzheimers or its now really taken over.
